I think Joke Phillips is a real possibility. Another name that might get vetted out is Thad Ward who is at Illinois. He's currently the running backs coach but has been a receivers coach in the past.

Still digging to see what other names we can find.

Only know the negative stuff. But I honestly know nothing about his talent as a WR coach, did he have good production?

Another chance to upgrade a coach. Knew when Butch went with Scott for OC that CZA's stay would end fairly soon. He will do better in the NFL than college IMO.

This is another situation that lends itself to Scott bringing in his guy, who is also acceptable to Butch. Just like with Shoop, Scott needs a big say on the choice.

A lot noise in the public about this being like Dools last year with the coaching staff turnover, which is crazy. Butch's staff has been strongly upgraded coming off two successful 9-4 seasons compared to equal to worse coaches coming in after 5-7 seasons with Dools.

I agree that the new parts of the staff are largely upgrades. I still worry that Butch will meddle and not let them do their jobs.

What exactly is the basis for this narrative? It keeps getting repeated, but I know of no specific supporting evidence. In fact, I could argue that Butch not meddling was the reason why WR performance was so bad, and when he got involved, the WR play improved considerably.

Agree. Think State has a fanatical base that propped them up and support the rebuild. Not sue Ole Miss has that same fanatical support.

He can recruit and he definitely has legit experience. Nobody really wins at KY and he had to suffer behind the disaster of Muschamp. Could you imagine he and Warren on the sideline? Those dudes would demand respect.
