The start against UGA's zone was fantastic. Williams and Schofield were nailing shots at the elbow. We just don't have a skilled big guy and our outside shooting is inconsistent.

Yea, I probably should read more about it before forming an opinion. I didn't know much about him until I heard his comments about Bama and then getting fired. Coaches should take the middle ground with players- don't make it about yourself but protect them when it's necessary.

On the periphery though, it's look like a coach speaks out against Bama and then gets fired. Saban has some influence if that happens.

Oh I agree. And because it was Bama this story got the media attention to almost force the school to get rid of him.

Of all the shady things that exist in recruitment picking a school wanting to see a QB throw in person before they can commit just seems like a strange hill to die on.

Wasn't able to see that game. The games I've watched we throw the ball around the three line, clock gets down to 5 and we settle for a difficult 3.

I have missed a few too. But I believe it was the first play for us on offense when Williams found the soft spot and nailed a shot at the elbow. They bogged down some in the second half but also missed shots.

The trick against the zone is quick ball movement. Make the zone shift and the exploit the voids the movement creates. We don't do a very go job.

Yea, I know. But I loved playing a zone because I shot from the outside. I didn't have to work much for a shot. A skilled offensive big guy and a sharpshooter put pressure on a zone, and we have neither. However today, Schofield and Hubbs are shooting well.

"As Chancellor Davenport continues to get settled into her new position at the University of Tennessee. The work on the search for a new athletics director continues to heat up.

According to multiple sources, Tennessee's search committee which includes former Vol quarterback Peyton Manning among others will get together on Sunday for the first time since the committee was named. We believe the meeting will also include Dr. Davenport as well as Tennessee's hired search firm, Turnkey.

This past week, Turnkey visited with candidates including Phillip Fulmer and David Blackburn about the vacancy. Some of those meetings with candidates Turnkey is vetting out took place face to face in the northeast which is where Turnkey is headquartered.

It's our understanding that Sunday's committee meeting is an organizational meeting and is just a preliminary meeting. We don't' expect it to include any interviews with the finalists for the job. Those interviews will occur at a later date which could be somewhere around the first of next month we are told. But we haven't confirmed any specific dates.

The other question is who the finalists going to be. Phillip Fulmer and David Blackburn are thought to be two of the finalists. We think it's likely the committee will formally interview 3-4 candidates. One name we are continuing to hear today is North Carolina athletics director Bubba Cunningham. It's a name we are continuing to track to see how serious the interest level might be from both Cunningham and Tennessee."

Cunningham loves him some Butch. I was told If Fedora had left his top target was Butch. So I am sure Butch helped get him in mix

I thought it would be good to have a talented AD giving guidance during the search for assistants. That time passed and as long as it's done by June, I'm ok.

Let'em come to an agreement if it avoids future detrimental infighting.

With all the crap going on at North Carolina, I just don't see this guy being a serious candidate at UT. Talk about baggage.

I think before each thread on Volnation, we should post a pole asking everyone on Volnation if it's okay to start a thread discussing the topic.
The thread will not be allowed unless Volnation is unanimous.

Wouldn't want anyone to be offended by an extra thread taking up all that precious thread space.

It's always about you freakin' guards. You guys need to learn to feed us post guys. After all, we're down there rebounding all those bricks.
