I don't follow women's BBall very much so I'm a little out of the loop but what is Hollys biggest downfall? Player development? In game coaching? Motivation? Discipline?

She is dependent on women to do what she says. In my experience this can be a very difficult endeavor

Regarding Lady Vols, didn't they lose two key players to injury this year before the year started? Doesn't she only have like 10 scholarship players right now? J

She has plenty of talent to win more than she's winning. They are extremely inconsistent, unmotivated, and still can't run an effective offense against the zone.

Does anybody have any actual info on how Austin Smith and Sapp are doing these day, healing-wise?

There was a 247 article the other day that said Smith was healthy. No actual info on Sapp, but I thought he tore an ACL early last fall. If I'm remembering right he should still be several months from being ready.

Edit: Here's the article that says Smith is healthy.

AUSTIN SMITH

Smith is often one of the forgotten men on Tennessee’s roster, but this coaching staff has loved Smith since he starred at Atlanta-area Buford High School. Smith was always a bit of a developmental prospect who needed to find a permanent position, but that’s not been his biggest problem the past two years. Staying healthy has been his problem. Smith is healthy now, though, and with stars Derek Barnett and Corey Vereen now preparing for the NFL Draft and others like junior Kyle Phillips recovering from surgery, Smith (along with fellow third-year sophomore Darrell Taylor) should get a ton of reps this spring. He would do well to take advantage of them.

1. went to the Elite 8 last year
2. has the number one recruiting class coming in
3. it's women's basketball

And most importantly.....

4. Pat hand picked Holly as her replacement

1. Elite 8 isn't the goal for the Lady Vols, it should be closer to the floor.
2. I will give you that point
3. It's supposed to be the premier ladies BB (arguably) program in America. And that hasn't been the case since Holly took over.
4. That was 5 (FIVE) years ago. You think Pat thought it would go this way or would be happy with the last 5 years?

Are you friends with Holly?

In game coaching is horrible. Sometimes, she looks like a spectator rather than coach. Similar to Cuonzo Martin, she doesn't know when to call time-outs. When her players need motivation, she doesn't supply it nor seem to know which players to substitute or when to substitute.

Personally, I don't think her discipline or player development is all that bad. She just isn't head coach material. She would still make a top-notch assistant.

1. Making elite 8's won't get you fired.
3. It's a non revenue sport.
4. Doesn't matter. It was Pat's choice and because of that she will be given a longer leash.

I don't watch women's basketball but I am hoping Holly succeeds. Maybe it's because the people that hate her so much kinda irritate me. Or maybe it's cause it's fun to watch someone else want a coach fired besides the team I care about.

I prefer Combat Service Support but POG works also. A POG I may be, but I prefer sleeping on a pillow to sleeping in a hole in the ground. I love combat arms guys because they don't mind sleeping on the ground. Not my cup of tea. :zeitung_lesen:

My original MOS was 52D, Electric Power Generation Equipment Repairer. Then, I joined ROTC. I was commissioned and my basic branch was infantry, but I never served in an infantry unit. I branch transferred to Civil Affairs and stayed there until I retired. So, I am a POG as well.
