The Army doesn't like fixing us and they generally take the cheapest route. I joke about the Motrin but it is based in reality. For a sprained MCL, almost ruptured Achilles, and a broken toe; all they gave was Motrin for each separate event.
This is true. I told them for years that my knees hurt. They asked if I could still do my job. Being to good little Soldier I was, I said, "Why yes I can!". So I CM'd until my knees hurt so bad in the evening I couldn't even sit without throbbing pain. I finally said screw the Army and got my own diagnosis and I have chondromalacia (roughened cartilidge on my patella that causes inflation/pain of the knee joint). I take a strong anti-inflammatory everyday and still have to supplement it with an herbal anti-inflammatory, turmeric. The Army still doesn't care, because I can still do my job and now I have less pain. Until my liver gives out from trying to process all the medication in 15 or 20 years. Oh well. I'll live long enough to draw my pension I suppose and that'll learn em!
