Why because the media told you?
Do you believe everything the media tells you?
If the RB position has been devauled, explain a guy coming off an ACL going in the top 10 in 2015? Explain another going in the top 5 to a team that could make any RB a 1000 used rusher because of their elite o-line? Or how about this year where there are some mock drafts that have 4 RBs going in the first round?
The devaluation of the RB position is a media myth. If you have the talent you will be taken in the first round. PERIOD.

47 starting/co-starting RBs and I count 8 1st rounders in the entire NFL. By contrast, I count 5 UDFA starting RBs. Of those 8 1st rounders, it can be argued that Ryan Mathews, Jonathan Stewart, and Doug Martin haven't really lived up to expectations of 1st rounders, especially when it's been proven you can find guys late in the draft and even as UDFAs like Thomas Rawls, CJ Anderson, Isaiah Crowell, LeGarrette Blount, and Rob Kelley.
Look at your top RBs...
David Johnson (3rd rd)
LeVeon Bell (2nd rd)
Ezekial Elliott (1st rd)
LeSean McCoy (2nd)
DeMarco Murray (3rd rd)
Devonta Freeman (4th rd)
Todd Gurley (1st rd)
Jordan Howard (6th rd)
Jay Ajayi (5th rd)
Melvin Gordon (1st rd)
That's a wide assortment of draft positions. You don't want to believe it's been devalued and certainly won't admit it no matter how much evidence anyone can present, but you're dead wrong. The NFL is a passing league, and RBs are a dime a dozen for the most part, especially if they can't play all 3 downs. The 2018 class is special and will buck the trend, but it doesn't rewrite the NFL landscape. The special RBs will be drafted higher than normal, but the average ones will still be middle round picks.
