Immigration Ban

The debate isn't about whether or not we should ban ISIS.

You're why we can't have nice things.

Her point, his point by repeating it is that ISIS was "happy" for the "ban" and somehow we should care.

What did they expect? That ISIS was going to be publicly upset? Of course they'd claim happiness. Morons.

Who is ISIS? Do they have tattoos on their foreheads? Do they admit they fight for ISIS when immigrating? Are you saying they can't come in as "refugees". Of course they want in this country.

So yes, should we let ISIS in so they'd be happy?

Snap out of Huffland and come to reality.

I found this interesting. How the enemy sees the ban.

First of all who the hell is Rukmini and how does she know what ISIS is saying? Is she camped out with ISIS? Secondly, why should we believe anything ISIS says? Do they have any credibility? Seems like a lot of speculation here.

In one of the ISIS documents that's been discovered called the Rumiyah. They talk about in order for ISIS to be successful they must convince moderate Muslims that America and the West that are not at war with radical Islam but at war with all of Islam. That's why Bush and Obama went out of their way to always separate the two.

ISIS refers to it as the Gray Zone, which is the areas of the world where moderate Muslims live in peacefully alongside people of other faiths. They need to destroy that in order for the Caliphate to succeed. ISIS and Al-Qaeda have long argued that America is at war with Islam. The Obama and Bush administrations went out of their way to say no, our war is with terrorism. ISIS sees the so called ban as a propaganda victory.

9th Circuit Court of Appeals rules against reinstating Trump's immigration executive order. Decision was 3-0 against. The Court rejects DOJ's claim that courts cannot & should not review constitutionality of its ban. Court also says that Green Card holders have Due Process rights. Court ends by emphasizing "public interests" violated by ban: 1) free travel, 2) no separation of families, 3) freedom from discrimination.

Ok, yeah, that was the argument that caught my ear the other day -- that the explanation NOW that it does not apply to current visa holders -- was a bit too convenient and could change yet again.

Couldn't Trump just withdraw this order and more carefully craft a better order to cover the specific categories of people who should be kept out of the country? I know nothing of the law but it seems to me that much of the problem here is how hastily this order was written and how vague it was.

I understand that Trump won't do that because it would be admitting a mistake and his ego and stubbornness won't allow for that but it looks like this could be remedied without a prolonged battle and Supreme Court fight.

Trump unhinged already.

Actually, that wasn't bad. I expected him to call the Judges losers and have a full scale tantrum. I would bet Priebus was standing over his shoulder while that was being sent. We won't see how he really feels until 5 am tomorrow.
