Seriously, stop tweeting players

Brady is a great player. But, I like how all of the arguments on his side come from TEAM accomplishments. He had a greater CAREER than Peyton because of those team accomplishments. But, they don't necessarily make him a greater QB.

Peyton took four different coaches to the Super Bowl, only one of which was worth a d@mn. That says more to me than a QB who went to more playing for the greatest HC of all time.

Just my opinion.

You say Brady's is all team, then turn around and say Peyton "took" 4 different coaches to the Super Bowl. So him getting to those Super Bowls wasn't a team thing? And Denver's defense last year didn't take them to the Super Bowl?

That's some strange logic you got there.

The Tony Basilio Show

"Speaking of Jarrett Guarantano, he sent out a tweet after the Super Bowl which has since been deleted, where he said Tom Brady was the greatest QB of all-time. A lot of folks gave this young man hell online about that comment. Look folks, I love Peyton Manning. Peyton will always be near and dear to our hearts. Guarantano will even tell you Peyton was his favorite player growing up and a big reason he signed with Tennessee, but don't slam the young man for saying Brady is the greatest. Do you really think his tweet was off-base? Brady has been to 7 Super Bowls and has 5 rings. The proof is in the pudding."

When will it end?

Manning was an outstanding pro QB and deserves all the accolades he has received, and he is still UT's favorite son.

But...Brady now has 5 SB rings and when referring to NFL QBs is without a doubt the GOAT. And I don't like Brady and can't stand the Patriots, but I don't think anyone can realistically argue against that statement. Especially the way the guy literally dismantles defenses in 4th qtrs. when a game is on the line. It is really rather remarkable to watch, like him or not.

There have been many QB's that have been great. One from Miami, one at New Orleans, one from Buffalo, going way back there were many more. The problem is the definition of great. What makes great? To do more with less talent and more smarts, post season success, best passer, best pass/runner, on and on this could go. So each of us has a different idea of the word "greatest".

As much as fans need to stop tweeting at players, the players need to stop allowing people they don't know to follow them on twitter.

Literally the entire point of twitter is to get as many followers as possible so that when you "tweet" everyone gets to read what you are saying. That opens you up for a terrible backlash.

Its funny but idiots on social media are usually grown men. Especially in this case as most teenagers would easily think that Brady is the best QB ever. Also, I have read articles about the younger generations looking for other forms of social media because facebook and twitter have been taken over by the older generations. I don't know too many women that will engage in an argument of Brady / Manning.

Your problem here is "grown men".
Also the "younger generation" defines "older generation" as anyone over 18. Now the grown men you refer to, to my way of thinking, fall between 18 and 24, and seem to have little to do but sit and spew on social media.

If the Falcons and Seahawks ran when everybody knows you run, Brady would be 3-4 in the Super Bowl....with no SBs for the last 12 years...food for thought.

I'm not a twitter user, or user of any other social media platform that gives me direct contact with someone, so can someone help me understand something? Surely there is some feature that allows JG to not see tweets from people he doesn't know? Why do people allow friends or followers from people they don't know?

Maybe JG doesn't have the hysterical reaction to a few tweets that disagree with him that some on here do.

I can very easily see having a little friendly banter with the kid over that statement but not going overboard and making an ass of yourself over it.

He's a kid, (I am guessing he is at least 18, so technically a grown man) but I don't think he's stupid either.... If you are the potential starting QB at the University of Tennessee and you tweet something like that, surely you know there will be backlash from the Manning clan.... doubt he is torn up about it like most of you on here think he is...

You may not like Brady and a lot of folks don't but he proved yet again why he's a great and arguably the greatest ever.

Hats off to you Brady.

And no I don't like the guy either

I don't believe you can compare any two great players that played on different teams. There are just to many variables to quantify/rate them. The best QB every just may not be either of them. Payton is special because he is a "champion of life". All kidding aside he is a great person first and then a great QB. He doesn't need us to defend him.

Not really.

What do you mean not really? You don't think people would modify their positions with a 5-2 Brady vs a 3-4 Brady?

I admit that a 3-4 Brady is probably still my frontrunner for GOAT, but at 5-2 there is almost no discussion. Lots of people would change their opinions if he were 3-4.

JG just learned that what you say matters.

I mean not really to you "fixed my post". You basically restated it and my original point stands.
