Recruiting Forum Football Talk XXXII

Wow! Didn't mean for my post to turn into a sh**storm. Just meant that everyone posting on here is posting an opinion, regardless of what they do...and that my 45+ years of watching and dissecting football is worth more to me than some of their opinions.

The other BB is actually one of my favorite posters. We don't always agree, but we do agree a lot (ie..John Kelly when very few agreed with us).

I was just saying that a lot of people on here take their word as gospel, but it is still just their opinion. Hear what they have to say along with others. Do some studying on your own. Then form your opinion based off of the collective.

The idiots and those with agendas are easy enough to spot on here. BB is not one of them IMO. He just has strong opinions based off of what he sees, Whether I agree with them or not does not take away from him as a good poster who does bring good info.

I said if Kelly stayed healthy he could be a Heisman contender in this offense. People dogged me for it. Guess I'm a negavol with an agenda. Cool 😎😎😎😎😎

D-Lineman 6'4 290lbs, squats 575, benches 345lbs and can windmill dunk(video proof). Holds offers from Michigan, Bama and LSU among others. But we are slowing around and I shouldn't question who the hell is recruiting Alabama. Plus he's WIDE OPEN for real. Smh

A lot of people get confused by the word could I've noticed...lol. They seem to take it as you're saying will. We agreed then. We still agree now.

Agree also on the slow play of a D-Lineman. Not sure what they were thinking there.

I do however disagree on Shamburger. I feel he may end up being our best DB out of this class. You don't. Neither of us have said we didn't like the others, we've just said the one we personally liked best and why (not in this thread, but another).

Go read that thread....

I know it's been said a million times, but I can never follow all of the rules...

Does Butcher's departure open a spot for this class, or get Fant in?

I don't think it does, more likely an extra spot for 2018. TIA

Opens up one of the 85 but would have nothing to do with the 25. Fant wasn't going to count against the 25 anyway.

In case anyone hasn't caught up on the overnight posts, I went ahead and got a graphical summary for you. You're welcome!

This Hoke hire and Wells potentially to O-line has bought Butch 3 more years barring a 6-6 or worse, which would also be much less likely to happen. Now if he will get out of the way on D and just assist Scott as needed - this staff could get the job done IMO. Hoke is as legit as it gets at D-line. Especially if Strip is going admin and sticking around. Butch needs to go back to being the strong closer on recruits as his main job description. He has proven that he is willing and can significantly upgrade his staff.

Just win. Want to wear the orange colored shades again. They are almost in my hands to put on. Need a good 2017 season and a top 5 2018 recruiting class to go elite.

I disagree with it buying him 3 more yrs. Not sure he survives 6-6 or 7-5 this upcoming season.Throw in Wells and this staff has been seriously upgraded at the coaching and recruiting level, especially on Defense. Will reserve judgement on the offensive changed till after the season. But definitely love the direction of the defensive staff.

Really Rivals? People are killing me.

Farrell’s take: Shelvin’s ability as a zero technique or as a pocket pushing 3-tech will be welcome at LSU. Mathis has the athleticism to be the next gap-shooting star in Bama’s system. Conliffe could be a big outside guy or work exclusively inside in the Vols' scheme. Webb will hold up blockers to allow the linebackers to run free for the Gamecocks. Elliss is a pocket crusher who will work well with outside talent like Jeffrey Simmons.

Posted 7 minutes ago? Did I miss something? Did Conliffe sign with Tennessee or Florida?

If our staff is slow playing any D lineman at this point who has those skill sets and is open, then someone should be fired... D line is one of our biggest needs and we shouldn't be slow playing anyone after this largely vanilla class... BB, now that Hoke is on staff, hit him up and tell him to take a look..

Thanks for posting! Great read.

I've said it before and I will continue to say it, what a great example Dobbs sets. He is the definition of a class act.

As time goes on, I have a feeling that we'll appreciate Dobbs more and more for all that he did and stood for as a football player and a person.

He's the rare person I wouldn't say a single thing is off limits for him. Can't imagine what he'll end up being.
