Eh. UT fooled the pickers last year. Being gun shy is to be expected.

Im sure there are some that will embrace the idea, just in case it doesn't pan out again.

I'm not usually a superstitious person, but I hope they don't pick up just for that reason.
They pick us, it's Florida,
Georgia it's Florida wins
They pick South Carolina ..Georgia etc..

The only consistent thing, they're always wrong.

Um, I said he is not setting the world on fire in recruiting. Do you disagree?

And, fwiw, if you are just basing if off recruiting points, the differences between the 2 programs classes the last 2years in negligible.

Top15 class on 247 last year and top 10 on 247 this year. You made your comment in the context of disagreeing that UF finishes ahead of UT next year.....well, he's recruiting better than Jones right now, so.....

UGA gets Miss State and Auburn from the west. Florida gets A&M and LSU.
We get Bama and LSU. F my life.

Yeah UGA is without a doubt the favorite.

Well at least Florida has two guaranteed losses like we do.

Makes me feel somewhat better.

Sure they did. Florida went to Baton Rouge as underdogs, with 7 starters out and beat a very good LSU team to win the division....all while Jones was crapping the bed vs SECeast bottom dwellers SCar and Vandy.

Butch took a dump and walked out without wiping his butt

All he needed was one and dropped 2

Go figure

It hasn't. McIlwein is not exactly setting the world on fire in recruiting and UGA almost always out-recruits UT, and I see no evidence yet that Smart is any better of a HC than Richt was.

Florida's coach just signed his best class at Florida and has a 4* RS freshman QB that will most likely start next season. I expect their defense to take a step back, but they will still be solid. Also, if their coach can get their offense going it will only make them a tougher opponent.

We do not know how good of a coach Smart will be, but it is not going to make it any easier on us when they have 4 and 5 stars all over the field. And honestly I am concerned with Muschamp at USC. He just always beats Butch.

We could not win the East with how it has been the last couple of years, it is only going to be tougher now. I hope we can take a huge step forward next season and Butch can show us that he is growing/learning as a coach and his coaching changes actually help us get to the next level.

This is exactly what some of us have been saying for weeks.

In the end that's all the fans want is to win and go to the game that didn't happen for obvious reasons.

Yeah. Lately it's been more about who doesn't trip over their own feet.

UGA looks to be the popular pick but ATP there is only evidence that Smart can recruit well. Coaching remains to be seen.

This is why we are behind the 8 ball starting out. The West opponents should be a round robin for everyone.

Only been there two seasons and will be bringing in his best recruiting class to date. I'm not so sure he's run out of lives. And unlike Jones, when the opportunity to win the East was there, he went out and took it with a win at LSU.

2015:
East Carolina by 7pts
Kentucky by 5pts
Tennessee by 1pt
Vanderbilt by 2pts
Florida Atlantic in OT by 6pts
2016:
Vanderbilt by 7pts

3 lives left.

Hate Butch for blowing his chances sure...but McElwain isn't setting the world on fire with inching out some of these games with all the remaining superior recruiting class rosters of Muschamp...I'm just saying.

I have not seen anything that great about Georgia that makes them #1 in the east next year. Let them have all the pressure and hype.

Good. We need the bar set as low as possible. This team did not do well with high expectations last year. I don't think it's going to immediately turn around for UGA. Eason is going to be really good but will probably be handing it off to Chubb and Michele most of the time. Nauta is the only known product they have catching the ball.

And I'll believe UF is a legit SEC contender when they actually get a QB that can play. If Del Rio is the starter going into next season, UF is still in bad shape offensively.

2nd year QB
Returning RBs
Year 2 in smarts system
Loaded with talent and depth.

If what they're saying about Shoop happens there's no reason Georgia shouldn't be the favorite.

From what the gator poster have said it's all on the young kid who red shirt last season if he's not ready it won't be any fun in Gainesville
