Just to put some levity on the star impact. They mentioned a stat yesterday on sports radio. Only 17% of 4 and 5 star college players make up the two teams in the Superbowl teams this year. I think coaching and development is the key. And that is where CBJ still has some question marks. This year will tell a lot since we are replacing a lot of talent.

That's due to the overwhelming number of 3* recruits versus 4 and 5*s. I've seen that argument made before and it's deeply flawed.

Our class is nearly identical to Kentucky's in the number of 4 and 3*s with the exception of Trey Smith. That is embarrassing.

Well....it is all about winning the East 1st. Our class is ahead of everyone but Georgia's in that respect.

I understand your point. And I do agree mostly. But there are a lot of 4 and 5 star players who just don't pan out. So I do think a lot is player development and coaching at the college level.

On the other hand, there are more than enough 4 and 5 star athletes to fill NFL rosters. Statistically, if the number of 4 and 5 *s in the NFL is statistically similar to what there is in college, then your point becomes more deeply flawed. (IOW, if 4-5 *s remain that much better, all of the 4-5*s would get the NFL positions.)

Just something to think about.

Just like when a kid commits some of you want to search all sites and list his lowest ranking.

If you look at 24/7 and Rivals they show two different numbers. 24/7 has us with four 4* and one 5*. Rivals has us with eleven 4* and no 5*.

Guessing you will use 24/7 since it fits your narrative better huh fade?

I would say Florida's is better despite the ranking. They have 8 four star recruits compared to our 4 four stars. We out rank them because of the total number of recruits we're signing. Basing all this on 24/7

Are you not doing the same thing , using rivals to fit your narrative. Isnt Rivals the one who has Trey Smith #47 and 24/7 or ESPN has him #1. So which one is right?

No my post is a comment. You have never and will never see me complaining about us having so many 3*.
There is to many narratives that go in to or not in to a kids ranking. Has anybody seen them play, did they go to this camp or that camp. Alot of these kids can't afford to visit camps.

In the end the coaches are picking these kids for a reason and I'm sure academics and attitude plays a big part in it besides being able to play SEC football.

I sure hope folks on here will realize the importance of these young men to UT and give them a great welcome. Some of the negative comments on the UT Facebook site are ridiculous. C'mon man!
