Saudi isnt on the list because the only saudis interested in immigrating are female, trans, homosexuals, apostates, and people who dont even have saudi citizenship. Since females arent permitted to board a flight anyway, that cuts the number down to a very small number of people.

When will liberals realize that the more they keep up with this fake outrage over every little thing the more they slip into obscurity?

Their party is already decimated, yet they keep digging a deeper hole. Stop assuming that you are intellectually superior to everyone, take a step back, and reevaluate yourselves. If you haven't noticed, the progressive movement isn't working, and people are starting to see straight through the MSM.

These scare tactics and fake protests aren't going to get you back in power.

It's these sorts of dismissive attitudes that made sure the Ds lost in 2016. By acting this way, you're going to do exactly what they did and contribute to the strength of the opposition.

Trump has done something unlawful and the execution of it is on par with the incompetence we saw with the roll out of the ACA.

But you're just going to dismiss these reasonable and important critiques because some people are overboard in their response?...history will just repeat itself.

By law, you can discriminate against non-immigrants and refugees, but by law you cannot discriminate against immigrants based on nationality. This has established judicial precedent dating back 50 years, cited in the Justin Amash quote I know you already read.

Jimmy Carter says you can discriminate based on nationality, so did Obama. You can't discriminate by race or religion.

Obama discriminated against refugees, which is lawful (but I still oppose it). Trump is discriminating against refugees and immigrants, which the latter is not lawful.

Not sure what the facts are about Carter, so I can't speak to that.

Many supporters and opponents of President Trump's executive order are conflating the terms "immigrant" (which encompasses green card holders), "nonimmigrant," and "refugee."

It's not lawful to ban immigrants because of "nationality, place of birth, or place of residence." This nondiscrimination provision comes from a 1965 law (8 U.S.C. 1152 Sec. 202(a)(1)(A)) that limits the 1952 law (8 U.S.C. 1182 Sec. 212(f)) that the president cites.

It's lawful to ban nonimmigrants for almost any reason. These are people who are temporarily visiting the United States, like tourists or students.

It's lawful to ban refugees for almost any reason. But banning all refugees from particular countries is harsh and unwise. We still should admit well-vetted persons.

Understanding these distinctions is important because supporters of President Trump's executive order continue to wrongly insist that the order is lawful and that President Obama did almost the same thing in 2011. And opponents of President Trump's executive order continue to wrongly insist that banning refugees violates the Constitution or the law.

President Trump's executive order covers not only refugees but also immigrants and nonimmigrants. As noted above, it's not lawful to discriminate in the issuance of an *immigrant* visa because of the person's "nationality, place of birth, or place of residence."

President Obama's action (which wasn't disclosed at the time) covered only refugees and, therefore, did not violate the Constitution or the law, even if one finds it objectionable for other reasons.
