Immigration Ban

Justin Amash is setting the record straight for everyone.

President Trump's executive order covers not only refugees but also immigrants and nonimmigrants. As noted above, it's not lawful to discriminate in the issuance of an *immigrant* visa because of the person's "nationality, place of birth, or place of residence."

President Obama's action (which wasn't disclosed at the time) covered only refugees and, therefore, did not violate the Constitution or the law, even if one finds it objectionable for other reasons.

Explain to me how US law applies to a non-US citizen that hasn't entered the country yet?

More shenanigans from Trump if the draft is accurate. And yet he refuses to release his tax returns or divest from his businesses - so much for transparency!

it would not be possible to divest his interest in 4 years. the tax return is a silly argument

i would like to know that to.

i think the laygators and gaytorprofs of the world believe they're world citizens and we have a border-less society so everyone can come and go as they please. of course this only started 5 days ago. they had no issues when their boy obama did the same thing.

Yeah... we should just forget about Trump specifically calling for a Muslim ban in December of 2015. This facebook post (which he obviously didn't write) makes everything okay.

Also, you can't ignore the huge difference in both the circumstances of the Iraq ban and in the way these were implemented. The fact is that there was nothing in place to deal with those who were already in transit. No coordination with the DOJ or DHS just mass chaos.
It's not mass chaos.

I don't understand the hysteria from the left regarding this.

So Trump does a 90 day ban to get things in order and everyone flips out? Did these same people care when Obama did a 6 month ban on Iraqis?

We've seen what happened to Germany and France; what's wrong with being cautious?

Since many on the left are calling the 90 day postponement (of citizens from countries even listed by the Obama administration as having 'state sponsored terrorism') a ban on Muslims, I guess the Iranian ban on Americans in response will be called a 'Christian' ban?

President Trump is going to do his best to ensure it doesn't happen. Sorry you have a problem with that.

What was that I told you about taking your laptop and looking in the mirror with your "You've been played" post?

How Trump Is Making U.S. Cities Easier Targets for Terror - The Daily Beast

Sorry, I know. Daily Beast. Fake news.

Face it, Agent Trump is doing exactly what he was sent here to do: make you less safe and make this nation even more of a chaotic wreck than it was already.

At the rate he's going, I give it another week before you start seeing the Internet flooded with Hillary Clinton "Miss me yet?" and Obama "You sure you don't like third terms?" memes.

Half of them from secret Trump voters with lots of drunken regrets.

He cited the judicial precedent. Also, i don't think Trump's executive order specifies that they haven't entered the country yet

My co-workers have a great deal of respect for me.

I also don't talk politics with them (only the closest to me, who I hold in confidence and who welcome such discussion), as I consider such behavior impolite.

I suspect that if you held the election again today, knowing what we now know, Hillary would probably win the electoral by Trump's margin and would probably win the popular by 1-2 million more than what she did.

Those hypotheticals will likely only skew more in her favor, assuming they could actually be polled and calculated, as time goes on.

Work is your safe space?

I agree with him in regards to work politics. I've got enough crap going on at work without having to navigate political opinions. Unfortunately several of us are in close enough proximity that I'm forced to listen to other people pontificate even if it's not directed to me.

So many logical fallacies.

Obama only selected one country and it was directly in response to an Al-Qaeda operative that was caught from that country. Trump selected a bunch of countries in response to nothing, purely to make a political statement of "**** muslims"

I suspect that once Kim Jong-Un gets his ICBM online this generation's Cuban Missile Crisis will lack the subtlety of the Kennedy-Khrushchev match up now that The Donald has the wheel.

I suggest you go hide in a bomb shelter then for the next 8 years
