20,000 Dow happening.

LMAO at open borders fans with people getting blown up, shot, knifed, raped, jobs taken by illegals due to unscrupulous employers, rampant drugs destroying lives/families nationwide, sanctuary cities not upholding the law, and so on. Open borders fans are urged to move to what's left of Angela's EU or New Zealand like the rest of the globalist elites because that's is so yesterday in this country.

That is all happening with millions of dollars spent along the border now...you think some concrete would make any difference? LOL its juvenile thinking. You guys think the Mexican border is this great problem? It doesn't make the top 50.

My lawn guy is 50-something family friend who was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He sucks but I can't fire him because he had a stroke a few years ago and I don't want to make **** worse for myself if purgatory happens to exist.

If you live in Texas all the lawns all the dry wall all the roofs basically all the jobs that Americans don't like to do are done well and very fast by illegals and they are happy as clams to do it.

I lived in a border state for 15 years. Yes I feel pretty safe with open borders which is basically what we have now seeing as much like the drug war we spend millions in a failing effort.

You want to stop terrorism you stop the reason for it not build some stupid wall that will supposedly keep them out. Most of them do not come through Mexico anyway, there are many ways to get to the states and walking through a desert is not preferable.

So you think we should bring some of those radical terrorist over here and sit around a camp fire and sing kumbaya my Allah? You realize the radical Islamic ideology is to exterminate any one that doesn't convert? How's that open border thing working in Europe?

It is that way in the Nashville area as well and it all started in the 90s when fast food places were paying more per hour in actual wages to start than they do now, groups of employers in places like Cool Springs were paying for shuttles to run into depressed rural communities like Mount Pleasant to bus in unskilled labor, and anyone with a pulse could get a job in the AC sitting in a cubicle in front of a screen doing sales or CSR work. In came the illegals and now wages are lower, the people in rural areas can't even buy enough ephedrine to cook up a little meth and forget how screwed they are, the cubicle jobs all moved to India and those jobs that Americans didn't want to do are looking pretty ****ing good all of the sudden. Hence, kick their asses out and build the wall.

They will come no matter what you do...you have to kill it at the source. A wall across Mexico WILL NOT deter them if anything it will make them laugh and come by plane by ship, through Canada...

You assume the American poor will just jump up and seize those jobs...nope.

SO you think Canada and Mexico have similar security protocols? DO you think a radical Muslim is more likely to be able to get through security in Canada as it is Mexico?

I think it's more the middle class who would jump on those jobs at this point. Particularly the people who are trying to cobble out a subsistence living on part-time and temp work coupled with "self-employment" opportunities such as uBer. We'll always have poor people some can't work and some just won't. That's a whole other issue but it dovetails nicely into your earlier comment about the camps.

Try getting from Guatemala into Mexico without paying the appropriate "fees". We should treat our southern border the same way they do theirs. The rotting corpses will deter the second and subsequent waves.

Yes I do. In fact it is probably easier to get in through Canada. I have been through both borders many times and the Canadian side can be very lax.

Freakin illegal Mexicans destroyed the flooring installation business I worked in most of my life. It was hard work, but I loved it and made a very good living doing it. I don't mind legal immigrants. We are all from somewhere else, but you can't just flood a whole region with people used to living in tin shacks, and dirt floors. The will do work for literally nothing. It is very crappy work, but hell who cares right? Builders were content to gamble that they wouldn't get enough complaints to offset the cost discrepancy in installation pricing. I was not a rug rat either. I was a second generation, certified master installer.

Self/Home radicalization seems more the concern to me.

I'm all for making sure the border isn't an absolute sieve and knowing who is coming and going, but the biggest part of 'The Wall' just strikes me as a gimmick for lack of a better word.

Mexico is probably more pissed about the wall because it will make it more difficult for the central American illegal immigrants in their country to pass through to the US and they will have to deal with them. The amount of money that is dumped into Mexico from the US in the form of drug profits and workers sending money to family in Mexico is staggering. Imagine if that money ended up staying in our own economy. It might force the Mexican government to face their own problems instead of passing them off to us.

It reminds me of Alaskas bridge to nowhere a stupid idea to appease the frightened natives that has no chance of curbing or stopping the real problems.

Agree its a term that leads people to believe that the problem will be solved. There is not doubt it will help curb illegal immigrants trying to enter the country. Mexicans are good with tools so just how thick is this wall going to be before there are holes. One Two weeks.

Anyone who vandalizes the wall commits a federal offense and can never come in legally. I do think that the POTUS's holistic approach will include aggressive border enforcement.

What would your solution be? Serious question.
