Also why does anyone care about the most ignored poster on this site thinks? He's shown himself to be worthy of that time and time again.

Question. why is Mel Kiper's opinion worth anything? I mean what has he done besides have a ridiculous hair cut and awful voice? What made him so special that he gets all this attention?

He is just another Jimmy the Greek Snyder -- blah blah blah

He will tear up the combine! Don't worry about that.

Not only the Combine but also the Free Agency will greatly affect the draft order.

DB has talent, work ethic, stays out of trouble, and has a motor few DL can match. We've seen him go at it for dozens of plays without a breather when the game is on the line. Not many other big guys can do that without tuckering out.

Vereen in the 7th round too!

Also, I can't see Cleveland not taking the best available QB in the draft with their 1st overall pick unless they trade for Romo.

Mel's comments on DB are idiotic at BEST!

He says that he just doesn't know how DB will do against bigger OL in the NFL.....and wants to see how he will perform in the drills at the combine...:crazy::crazy:

Barnett has gotten it done at the highest level against the BEST OL in the NCAA in the SEC.....He performed at a superior level against ALL of 'em....and Garrett's stats aren't even close to Barnett's against SEC competition!

What more does DB have to prove? And why is ANYONE still listening to Kiper anyway?

We could probably get Cam Robinson to vouch for DB#9!

The only knock against Barnett is that NFL teams may fear that if they take DB, refs will quit calling holding penalties against him just like they ignore the blatant fouls against him in college.

MG will go first because of one thing ane one thing only, prototypical size.

No. He also has freakish athleticism.

There have been many DEs as big or bigger than him. However, there are few, if any, with his combination of size, strength, and explosiveness. There are the skinny DEs like Leonard Floyd and Barkevious Mingo that try to win with speed and then there are the bulldozing DEs that like to win with power. Myles Garrett is the rare guy who can win with both. Speed and power. Plus he's excellent at converting speed to power which is essential to being an elite pass rusher in the NFL.

Athletically he's the total package. IMO he's the best DE to enter the draft from a purely measureables standpoint since Julius Peppers in 2002. Alot of people will say Clowney but he didn't have Myles Garrett's strength to go with freakish speed.

It's not.

Barnett was great against Schreff a few years ago and he's a better player today. That was a top 5 offensive tackle playing a freshman and getting all he could handle every snap. Kiper is an idiot

I agree, Garret shows up big time against week competition but disappears against equal competition.

Garret will be a bust. If he's drafted by the Browns it's all but guaranteed. DB has that dog, not so sure about Garret.

A&M is still waiting for Garrett to stop a running play.

Hope he stays healthy. He's a big injury risk

You don't think Barnett could be an excellent fit as an outside LB in a 3-4?

no, he's not a stand up OLB/DE. he's a 4-3 DE. he's not big enough to play on the 3 man front, and not athletic enough to play outside OLB in a 3-4. could he develop in to a 3 down DL? maybe, if you want a project. if you try to make him in a 3-4 OLB, you're taking away what he does best.

hes perfect as a 4-3 DE.

Great pass rushers are must-have players in the NFL. I, for one, will be surprised if Barnett is not picked in the top 10. Kiper is a fool if he thinks Barnett is a late round-one pick. I saw one mock draft yesterday that had Barnett at. no. 4.

ESPN's Mel Kiper releases first NFL mock draft for 2017

Mel has Derek falling at no. 31

I personally can see him falling but with the demand of pass rushers in the NFL and his production, I don't think I would see him go past pick 20. Thoughts?
I usually like Mel too.

At the end of the day, Barnett still beat Reggie's 4 year sack total in 3. I think all 32 teams know that. Especially the owner of the team with pick No. 1.

Not saying that will happen, but owners have pushed GMs and coaches to draft less talented players in the past. And I doubt he wants to risk him falling to the Bengals.

Realistically, and without studying further down the draft order and team needs, I think Mel is trying to devalue him. Nothing new for him. Read the bolded line again. I will be shocked if he is still not wearing a cap past pick 10.

The fact that Kamara watched so many snaps in his time here will forever be one of the most ridiculous aspects of the Butch Jones era.
