at this pt, it happened. quit whining. shoulda gotten out and voted. Even Bill said the unemployed were gonna speak, spp in rust belt. Shoulda spent less time at blue plate dinners and more time opening up and countering criticism. fallability would have wone Hill the electuon in many's eyes. Hindsight is 20/20.

I doubt that any of the people protesting voted for Trump. Too me, yesterday's demonstrations were akin to the tea party rallies that began about a year into Obama's first term with the chief difference being that most of those people waited until Obama actually did something they disagreed with before taking to the streets.

The Tea Party started protests in February of 2009. Hardly a year after Obama took office. More like a couple weeks.

As for waiting for Trump to do something? His cabinet picks are enough to see the direction of things and want to voice opposition.

If Trump would acknowledge he did not win the popular vote by the widest margin the EC winner has ever lost without making up excuses and trying to claim his EC win was a "landslide" when it ranks 46th out of 58 elections it would go a long way to bridging the divide with the people that didn't vote for him,

I really trust Trump on financial matters as far as i can throw him. he has a history of changing gears when it benefits him. The Trump U stuff shows he'll do whatever it takes to do turn a buck, say whatever he has to say. This is being done for a reason.

This! All of the blue collars that voted for him because he cares about the little guy are in for a jolt, only thing Trump cares about is Trump. He is a salesman and said what he needed to say to get elected, period. He may do some good things economy wise, have no idea but foreign policy, I am scared of what he's going to do in this area.

I know I'm in the minority on this board on Trump but for the ones that like him, do you not have any pause that on his first day after inauguration he gets in a piss fight over the size of the crowds? I honestly think he gets impeached for some underhanded acts before his term is finished.

I know I'm about to get flamed so I think I will check out for a while..lol

I would really like to see the EC abolished, I have a place in Al and Ms, so I could have been registered to vote in either state but it would not have mattered because I could have voted a thousand times and it would not change anything in either state. Only way every person is assured his vote counts is to go on popular vote.
Second time in 16 yrs where popular vote lost. Maybe it would have come out the same way if we went with popular vote but we will never know..

They don't care what he does. They get to go around singing we are the champions until he is out of office. That is the important thing. :dance2:

I liked what you said, you bout lost me on the salesman end. Evert politician that ive ever known was a salesman to some degree...save maybe Fred Thompson, why be bowed out so early. Those who think Trump is a right winged at heart need to do some research. The man contributed to both Bill and Hillary's campaigns...at any rate. I disagree with him on many fronts, mainly not being a ****ing ******* to other human beings...but thats not for this board.

The dems can point to his amateurish behaviour re: tweeting, and not taking this role seriously. But we all knew there were cincerns about his behaviour. The greatest predictor of the future is the past. This country made its bed now we get to lay in it.

moving on.

I will vehemently disagree with abolishing it.

I like that it keeps a few huge urban population centers from selecting the leader for the government of the entire country.

I am someone that values the states over the federal government anyhow. It's another check on the system to me.

Just get used to it. He is here for at least 4 years and he won. Sounds like the old argument we had more yards they just scored more points

Agreed

I could get down with more states awarding EC votes proportionally or by district instead of winner take all. I think it would help fix the perception that most people's votes don't matter

Hillary won like 20 counties nationwide. I definitely don't want those wackos choosing for the rest of us. EC was put there for a reason.

Only thing I cared about in this election was not giving Hillary 1-4 Supreme Court appointments. I don't expect, or necessarily desire, overturning of any major civil and individual rights decisions of recent years. I would like to see a rethinking of commerce clause analysis and a bulwark against burdensome regulations that are not specifically authorized in law that is passed by our elected representatives.

Dubya gets a bad rap. Everyone thinks he's a complete idiot, then you hear from his advisers that he's smarter than them. Pretty good painter too. Would love to have a beer with that man.

Really is. I havent studied the presidents much but this had to be one of the worst elections in recent history.

No, that happened 8 years ago. Never thought I would see a president worse than Jimmy Carter in my lifetime, but damn Obama proved me wrong.

Besides, anyone with Bama as part of their name can only suck.

No way. None of this. The hate is too strong to bridge the divide and him saying he did not win in a landslide would not change their tune one bit. You can't be this naive but probably are.
