Next round of pepper is mine then.

I asked if they knew them since they were decked out in Tabor gear and the mom came out and was like "Yes we are I'm his Momma" and some other clown in his group said "he's gonna eat your offense up"

saw her again in the concourse after the game and I said "Your son is an alright ball player but man he needs to learn how to shut his gay ****ing mouth... I SAID IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL" (as I walked away).

For the record, I was drunk...

I've also had Joakim Noah threaten to kill me and my family lolololooololoooollllllll

Joakim Noah is the ugliest woman I've ever seen.

You should be embarrassed to tell this story. Not really something to be proud of.

It's a soft world we live in. You need a bottle and a dipey change? Maybe we should tell each other how awesome we all are.

88 you should've told Noah and Tabors mom what wonderful human beings they were.

...Or eff the gators. I choose that one

Or just ignore them and celebrate an amazing UT victory without berating the opposing teams' fans.

I was kind of kidding, but if it's really that big of a problem to you, you're soft.

I've been basically assaulted at away games in my UT orange, to the point where the person doing it got kicked out, by his own fans. A little banter is fine as long as things don't get physical or out of hand imo.

Oh and for the record I've had worse things done to me at UT home games by UF fans and Vandy fans than what 88 said lol. Vandy fans after Jordan Mathews put up like 200 on us in Franklins last year was the worst I've seen any fans.

There's not a thing wrong with playful banter, but I've seen it cross the line all too often, even doing it myself a couple times in my younger days. So, I'm not getting on my high horse, but people all too often cross the line. The poster who yelled obscenities and insults to a player's mom definitely crossed that line.

Eh agree to disagree. Ive had something like that done to me at every UT game I've ever attended. Every single one, home and away going back to when I was like 16 or 17

Just because you experience it from other fans doesn't make it ok to do back. Do you really want to be just like them?

I guess that's true.

How I see it, is if I wouldn't expect hearing it as a player (in Noah's case) or I wouldn't say myself to an opposing fan, then it's crossing the line.

As far as tabors mom, maybe it's crossing the line, but he kind of asked for it with his comments on UT, and 88 said she was talking "stuff" too. I think that's the difference in berating and banter. One is taking and giving something, the other is one person dishing over and over.

It is what it is, I just don't think it's embarrassing to tell those stories. I don't think it's bad, because it's normal at games. And if you're saying we should take it and never give it, we are soft. The same way people say they want nasty players (play through the whistle, mean streak, trash talking type) and we don't want choir boys (many said this about Daniel helm after he left), we can't just take it from opposing fans and not give it (not all fans obviously).

There are certain things that you can get by with doing when you're college age and younger. But at some point it's time to grow up. We walked through multiple blocks of student housing in Gainesville on the way to the stadium, and they heckled us to no end. Even then, most of it was playful. Then some 40 something comes up cussing at us. At that point, you just look pathetic. Same with Georgia. Grown men and women barking in your face. They look like idiots. I see the way they look and act, and I want to make for damn sure that I don't want to mimic that in any way.

Really torn here.

On the one hand, I love the disrespect of Gators in general and the Tabor family in particular. Zinging them is awesome.

On the other hand, "shut your gay f***ing mouth" sounds like middle school playground trash talk and comes up a bit hollow. So much potential for a good topical burn with all the trash talk he'd been doing all offseason too. Using "gay" as an insult has really lost its edge over the last 15-20 years. It's just so easily shrugged off. It's like calling someone a doo-doo head.

Use all the foul language you want, but make it count at least! Throw a verbal jab that will make them lose some sleep! I'm sure the alcohol along with the high that came along with that win made it harder to come up with a zinger that right in the moment though. I can see myself freezing in that moment as well.

My ruling:

Concept: 10/10 great Vol spirit.

Execution: 3/10 chin up and try to be more prepared for next time (if there is one).

What a wonderful thing to say to the mother of a player. Very classy of you, sir.

"Didn't see much of Tabor, but wasn't that him with his hands in the grass on the Jennings TD?"

That would have been my play
