yeah, they do, i don't think he's a good fit there. he's not a stand up DE that can move to OLB in that defense, and he's not quite big enough to play on a 3 down line. if he did that'd be a giant waste of what he's good at.

he's a 4-3 DE. i see they have the panthers taking Fournette there. and i wouldn't be upset about that.

but we need pass rushers too, and Dave Gettleman has a history of going DL, when all else fails... if DB impresses enough, i could see the panthers getting on him, and taking a RB later in the draft.

Gettleman is the hogmolly king. no way they take an injurty prone running back with the 8th pick. love fournette, and i wouldn't be upset if they did get him, but that's not DG's m.o.

if Barnett is there, and he continues to do well in interviews and doesn't do anything to hurt his stock in the combine, i could see DG getting all googly eyed at the notion of getting a Def End that just broke REggie White's sack record.

seeing as how we're thin at DE....i'd be absolutely shocked if we don't go there.

I called one of the sports radio shows here in bmore and the college rep said he didn't think he would make it to 16 when the Ravens pick. We desperately need def end rusher. Hope he makes it to us or we move up.

Titans have 2 picks in the 1st round.

Even though we run a 3-4 D I'd still love to have DB as a Titan.

I'll be surprised if he drops out of the top 10.

That is simply not true. I have consistently said that Derek Barnett will have a 10 year career in the NFL. I believe he'll be a good player. I just don't think he'll be as good in the pros as many on here believe. Most people around here believe he's better than Myles Garrett and a consensus top 5-10 pick. I've only disagreed with those points.

I compare Derek Barnett to a combination of Michael Bennett (Seahawks) and Charles Johnson (Panthers). Both are good starting caliber DEs. However, neither is elite. In most drafts, I would rate Barnett among the top 15-20 prospects. However, 2017 is different. Its exceptionally talented and deep at the very top. There are alot of elite talents in this class especially at DE. Right now I have Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, and Charles Harris all rated ahead of Barnett. And I still haven't reviewed the film of many other talented edge rushers.

I think this is one of the times Mel Kiper Jr. got something right. Barnett's value in this class is around the late 20s/early 30s. He'll be a really good player in the NFL. However, he won't be elite.

WalterFootball's mock draft has DB going 4th overall to the Jags, and so does the one Pro Football Focus put together. CBS has him 11th to the Saints.

Unless he gets injured or arrested between now and the Draft, I see no way he lasts that long. Every team needs edge rushers.

Regardless of where he falls and who gets him they are going to get a baller and he will make plenty of money in his nfl career

Love the satire and your point is well taken. However, D4H doesn't like Barnett, doesn't think he's very good, isn't in the same league with Garrett and won't have much of a pro career.

Yes and no. Don't think he's ever said Barnett won't get drafted, he just doesn't think he's nearly as good as Garrett and won't have a significant NFL career.

That's exactly what I meant.

He won't pull the trigger on Fournette IMO like you said but if DB turns in a solid pro day and draft he's Carolinas to lose

I don't see him falling past 10 . His combine is gonna shock a lot of people . But if he does fall out of the top 10 Atlanta at 31 is the steal of the draft

I hope my bengals grab him at 9 and sutton in the 2nd-3rd. Id be a happy camper for sure

Mel just guesses on some people. Barnett won't make it past 15 and honestly I think is a top five pick with a decent combine and when gm's see his tape. His tape is better than Garrett's.
