If Malone didn't leave, I would think it's possible. I think he stays at WR now.

We just need Martin to grow up and Gaulden, Buchanan, or Osborne to lock up the other spot.

Jennings made the move impossible for himself. Byrd is nowhere close to indispensable to the scheme. You could give him some snaps on offense and not cut his productivity nary a yard.

If we get Thomas I think the coaches will give Byrd a look at CB some during spring

I think Byrd is definitely more suited for CB. As a receiver he looked a bit timid, almost like he didn't like getting hit. Its different being hit than hitting someone. Think he could be a special player at CB.

I just think with out returning WRs. I like Byrd being the guy to stretch the field so Jennings and BJ/Smith can work underneath.

It's funny that Bruin knows so much about GAs and QC coaches, yet he doesn't know that's GAs are paid. Firstly, you get a waiver for tuition, which means no tuition fees. Well then you can argue that's not pay, it gets better. Most, almost all at big schools, will then get free on-campus housing and free meal plans. Still not paid? Well then, at schools like Tennessee you will also get a 10-25K stipend per year, some even make more. I've seen D-III schools offer 15K, so who knows how much they actually make at Tennessee.

It's not assistant coach money, but to say these guys are "nonpaid" as you described it Bruin is just completely false. Graduate assistants could theoretically manage to have a a 15K car, free UT clothes to wear everyday (polos, coaches jackets, etc) which most of us here would dream to have, the best on campus housing, the best on campus meal plan, and 10K or more left over for extra food, laptop, going out, etc? It's really not that bad of a life lol. That's assuming they get 25K, which is likely low. Not to mention free grad school from UT?

I feel like it's easier to play WR than CB from a hitting standpoint. Imagine a 220+ RB running outside full steam at you. Takes a tough player to be able to hit them and even slow them down so a LB or Safety can clean them up.

Moseley has been a starter at some point the past 3 seasons. Doubt he gets left out of this equation.

Most don't understand how IMG works. Most of the kids aren't there 3-4 years being developed. They are recruited there after they are already good to tell the truth.

IMG is a professional campus for either elite athletes or very rich kids that have parents that refuse to believe their kids aren't elite.

IMG has better facilities than 90% of college programs in every sport they back. They pay their coaches an extreme amount and pull athletes from all over the world.

There is no recruiting needed for IMG. Elite athletes apply there and if selected go on scholarships.

A better gauge for evaluating Weinke is his year at LA.

I was more excited about hopefully starting a pipeline at IMG if we happened to hire Weinke. Would love to pull 2-3 guys a year from there.

Can stretch the field part time as much as he did his freshman season. Potential shutdown corner much more important to this team.

They receive money less than or equal to athletes, so it's hard to say they're really paid. It's more of a cost of living stipend, not compensation. And some GA get less than 10k. I hate defending Bruin, but he's not so blatantly wrong THIS time as you make it out.

Let's talk about GA pay - FootballScoop

I'm done getting my hopes up about Mosley.

I thought for sure after his freshman year that he could be a good corner but he just never seemed to improve from there. A lot like the rest of our corners. I hope Warren is the guy to coach them up.

SIAD, If the proposal for a tenth on field coach goes through in April as expected what position do you think CBJ goes for? From what I read the option of hiring a 10th coach would be immediate.

Would never happen. Coaches can't be bought there. If that's suspected the whole thing shuts down. IMG has no affiliations outside of the players they recruit.
