Just like I said, bad publicity is still publicity. They are going to run this program into the ground. And there is NOTHING we can do about it. Once again, my beloved University is the laughing stock of CFB. Seems like it's every year.

How can we be the laughing stock when you have Baylor and now Oregon? We didn't hire somebody fast enough...big deal! Have a coach cover up gang rapes and a strength coach destroy your athletes kidneys and then take a number.

I'm with Kingston Vol. I don't see the big issue with there not being an AD named right now. I'm amazed at just how many people on VN are so bent out of shape on this.

It's not about the immediate need for an AD.

It's about the circus it's becoming. It's about our power people having a pissing match in the local and national media. It's about a decade plus of not being committed to winning. It's about there being no plan and no sense of urgency. It's about having an administration and a group of power people who can't stick their collective thumb up their collective butt in a room full of mirrors.

I absolutely disagree. Just because a person is 17 doesn't mean they can't recognize gross incompetence, or worse deliberate corruption. As a matter of fact you could say it would indicate a extreme lack of situational awareness or intelligence for a 16-17 year old to not recognize it she they see it. If a ref is bent, or just incompetent, he deserves absolutely no respect. They should be held to the highest standard.

As a parent, and as HS teacher and basketball coach, it pains me to see something said that is so far off-base. Wow.

Gross institutional incompetence has nothing to do with deliberate malfeasance.

I hear Obama will be without a job soon...

We don't want an AD who will do nothing but divide the university, destroy the finances, and play golf every day.

On second thought, with the state of our administration, maybe he has been a silent Chair this whole time?! 🤔

But there's a huge line of comedy before you reach Knoxville. Media types with an erection for us will jump to make mirth, but this is a lot of squawking. I want this done so we can move forward but I'll wait to find out what I'm panicking about. :scare:

Why is that so far off base? I have raised three very successful children. I must have done something right. I taught them to be respectful, and I have gotten hundreds of compliments through the years for my children being respectful. I also taught them to call crookedness for what it is. A position is filled by a person. If that person is incompetent or crooked, then the position deserves no respect either. And that goes for all positions of authority.

When rival programs (UF, Bama) hire their replacements in meer hours and we've known about this vacancy for months it makes us look inept. Couple that with the lack of stability with almost every sport and it doesn't paint a good picture to prospective student-athletes, potential coaches, boosters, etc.

Bama's AD search committee watching UT...

I care, for one. It is bad enough to get beaten on the field by the best athletes money can buy. We should never be so far behind in leadership.

They hire the right person and I reissue my indifference. I'll submit empty gripes if they flub it.

Sweet, two presidents like that in a row.
