Dan Wolken on UT AD Search:

Thanks for sharing! I agree that they may not read every email verbatim or even open some, but if we have a voice and can be heard we can influence Tennessee's administration. I also put "AD Search" as my subject so they'll at least know why I contacted them even if they do not read it. Hopefully they are not a bunch of idiots. Hopefully at least one person that one of these emails or letters reaches will be influenced by it and share it with those that can make the changes/decisions.

We just need one member of the BOT or Tennessee's administration to be struck by our message and see the exact same things we do for our beloved University. There still has to be some people on Rocky Top that love the Vols as much as we do and know where Tennessee rightfully belongs. We can make a difference together.
Not that we're pals, but Spruell and I worked together once upon a time. I brought this sort of stuff up with him once when the moment seemed right. Nada.

The problem is most of our boosters do not share the same pride and loyalty as us true fans.

If I had that kind of money I would be glad to help Tennessee and I would make decisions for the benefit of the program, not myself.

This statement is so wrong in so many ways. You need to get out more and rub elbows with some of these people before making blanket assumptions. I think you would be surprised.

Fair enough. I should not have generalized every booster. But I know many that treat games solely as social gatherings and do not care what happens at Tennessee as far as wins and loses. They come for the day and then forget about everything once they get home. Why do you think it was so easy to approve a $100 million stadium renovation?

It just upsets me when they cannot agree on things or bang heads over decisions that could help the University, but does not necessarily benefit them directly.

How, exactly do you know this? As opposed to believing it.

Maybe I'm crazy here, but I'm not really worried about Blackburn getting passed over. This lady, Beverly Davenport just got the job. She is going to dot all her "i's" and cross all her "t's" in this age of social justice. She has to give time to applicants of all race and gender and not have it look like this is a choice made only by the good old boys money club at UT. Honestly, I tend to think she's just trying to cover her ass in her first big task at her new job. First female chancellor...she doesn't want to screw this up.
Yeah but trying to convince the Chicken Littles here will be a task

I know a few donors (multi-million net worths) from my hometown, nothing personal or even much of a relationship. I have just received their box seats from time to time.

I will admit that they do not seem to have a strong affiliation with the University. I should not classify every Tennessee booster in their category, but they just irk me. I know there are people with a lot of money who love the Vols just as much as we do.

I'm sorry but after hearing him make ridiculous comments about Ole Miss on a local radio show a month or so ago pretty much DESTROYED any respect I might have had for this guy. And the sad part is he admitted it was, for some reason I forget ,personal for him to hate Ole Miss. So much for unbiased reporting..,,

I don't understand people's irrational hate of Twitter.

I'm not irrational at all. And hate is such a strong, ugly word. Let's just say I simply despise, detest, loathe and abhor twitter, instagram, snapchat and last but not least...facebook.
