Counterpoint:

Debord had Tom Brady to point to and we still struck out on all of our top QB targets after Guarantano.

Yeah but we were still able to land guarantano and dormady so still not seeing your point here, not gonna win every recruiting battle but still got those two on campus

Yeah I'd be cool with Dorsey too but i honestly don't think Debord recruited that much for us at Tennessee and we were still able to land dormandy and guarantano while he was here so I think canalas will be an upgrade in that aspect. But what Canalas has over the other qb coaches is OC experience which might help Scott come along

Dormady was on campus before Debord was hired.

Apparently Tim Williams failed multiple drug tests at Alabama and all he got was a 1st half suspension vs UK and that was for a gun charge.

If this is true, then it truly shows that Alabama just doesn't care. I know that drug policies are implemented by each school. But if he were at UT and had "many failed drug tests," then he would have gone the way of Danny O'Brien. Just not a level playing field.

Has Brice given an update on AD? LWS didn't sound as confident today as he was a few days ago. He said a lot of fighting behind the scenes with boosters. It's just ridiculous st this point- like a bunch of middle school girls in charge. Have you heard this SBV?

With several kids possibly having issues qualifying, would CBJ take extra commits just in case? If all ended up qualifying, how would the extra commits be handled? Would they just count against the 2018 class?

I don't think Butch will let anyone sign the LOI if they don't have the grades. That's just a wasted number if they don't qualify. Too much of a gamble on his part. That's one of the reasons you're seeing new WR names this late in the game.

Well guarantano then should've excluded dormady so point still remains..

Guarantano was a UT lean before Debord was hired.

But even if you give him credit for that, it doesn't change the fact that Debord's history with Brady didn't help him land guys we pursued in the 2017 and 2018 classes like:

2017:
Hunter Johnson
Jack Sears
Bailey Hockman
N'Kosi Perry
Hendon Hooker

2018:
Trevor Lawrence
Emory Jones
Justin Fields

So I doubt Canales having worked with Rivers 15 years ago will help that much

Danny O, Pig Howard, two of our best players dismissed. Saban does nothing. And they'll get away with it too

Just not an even playing field. The bigger problem is that sometimes not being disciplined for these type things leads to bigger crimes. You guys can laugh at me all you want, but I will take our coach who is trying to build a program the right way versus Saban, who is slime and filth and could care less about helping to raise young men, whose parents put under his supervision and trusted him to make them into responsible men.

Things have gotten more tense. Actually the word probably is frustrating.

The majority still want DB and are becoming impatient.

It is getting comical.

Spavital the new OC at West Va. Wickline the new OL coach there too. Makes sense with both being from Holgerson coaching tree.

Meanwhile the Butch jones tree sucks

It's not that simple. It's against the law. Rules are rules

I totally get that aspect of it (for now at least). But it is socially accepted for the most part and a part of mainstream culture now.

Apparently Saban has found a way to avoid kids having to miss games for smoking a little pot and that doesn't make me look at him any worse.
