I think he can. He Is fast, has good hands, good work habits and lots of brainpower. Would not surprise me to see him play 5-10 years in the right situation. What a credit he has been to UT . Kids like him have to have a positive effect on recruiting . Long live Josh Dobbs!

Not sure, but his elusiveness will give him a shot in the league wherever he wants. He and Alvin had a very unnatural gift of being able to avoid hits and keep running.

I think given time he could make a serviceable backup in the NFL. He improved his downfield passing greatly as this season went on.

If he does go the WR route he will probably have a longer NFL career. His IQ and elusiveness translates into lots of NFL potential.

He can be a QB. Needs what he never had at UT.- a QB coach. He has noticeably improved this year without one so with an NFL teams budget he can get the best of the best.

On one of his touchdown runs in the bowl- I had flashbacks to Randall Cunningham of the Eagles when he would just jump over tackles and barge into the end zone. They both are deceptively fast.

NO ARM that was his problem here he could not take the top of the defense QB coach or not he hasn't the arm to play in the NFL look up TIM TEBOW.:thud:He was one play away in the dawgs game in 15 from going to the bench and he would have never started a game for us again got lucky on fourth down if you remember the back up was up and throwing he just doesn't have the tools to translate to the NFL wish he did but he doesnt some team will give him a shot and cut him with the first or second cut.

Good grief.

People get (rightfully) wound up about the four million dollar man who can't get big wins he should and has big losses he shouldn't. But the players?

Dobbs has all the measurables and the intangible that he will be the smartest person both sidelines every Sunday. He looked the business in the pocket most of the year (he didnt have a pocket on way too many plays) and I thought he made a lot of NFL throws in the bowl game.

If he impresses at practice for Senior Bowl he is Round 4 latest and a possible franchise steal.

I think if he wasn't a qb his next best role would be at safety.... ex-qb's with speed make good safeties and they're in high demand.

He will play QB. With an actual QB coach to coach his position and develop him and his career, he will do fine.

DOBBS HAS BETTER UPSIDE AT QB IN THE NFL THAN TEBOW. YEAH, I SAID IT.

Throw Dobbs on those Florida teams Tebow was on and he'd be the Heisman winning National Champion too.

Even if Dobbs is a backup QB in the league for a few years, he could earn between half million to a million a year. Can't get that salary at SpaceX.....

Then, he could retire from football and pursue his non-football career path with no debt and tons of cash/savings....

I agree, he looks like he's not going very fast when he runs, but then all of a sudden he's far down the field. Hurts looks the same way to me, looks like he's running in sand and then he's gone and our players are wondering where he went.

Am I the only one who hopes he doesn't go to the NFL? I hope he follows his dream of becoming an Aerospace engineer. The NFL is very rough on running quarterbacks so he would have to completely change his skill set to be a pocket passer. I would love to one day see a VFL going into outer space or building the rocket ship to Mars. (If he isn't commanding it). How awesome would it be to see him plant the Power T on the Red planet.

A lot more upside than Tebow and it's not even close imo. He'll get a chance to play in the league. With a good QB coach he can be successful too imo. He has the talent and aptitude.

He had the long ball going for him in the bowl game but those sideline throws, that we have seen him make time and time again, were not even close. Consistency has been a problem but with a QB coach there is no telling what he could accomplish in the NFL.
