First off, why hire a QB coach before an oc, let the new oc bring in o e of his own guys for a change. Second, the leadership.at ut still sucks. What the hell.is going on up there, why the hell.do they make things so damn hard. An ad is a pretty damn I.portant position to leave vacant for 5 months....And why the hell.do they need to hire a search firm.to make calls, another way to waste money. Tennessee leadership is an embarrassment
Would absolutely be the best hire Jones could make and has made in his tenure at UT. And I really liked the Scott hire (at TE coach)Weinke seems like he would be an absolute home run hire. He ran IMG Academy for 5 years (!), was a hugely successful college quarterback, and played in the pros. Also has NFL coaching experience.
LA Vol is clearly connected to someone in UT admin, so him saying it gives me reason enough to believe.

I do not understand why she would want to come in here and tick off most of the fan base in her first few weeks on the job. Maybe her national search comes up with someone that most of us thinks is a home run hire. I do not want anyone that is an alum of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, or Vandy. If it is not Blackburn then at least stay away from people associated with those programs.
Or possibly she is actually competent and wants to hire the best person for the job. Who might not be from Tennessee.
I've run a business for 25 years. Having empowered competent people working for me isn't a threat, it's a blessing.
Would you let a major department of your business go without leadership for close to a year? Hart announced he was stepping down last spring/summer. He has been a lame duck ever since. If we don't hire an AD before then the whole AD will have been without effective leadership for almost a year. That is completely unacceptable in an organization the size and scope of the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Ya'Il crazy if you think a person isn't gonna have a say in hiring someone that will be directly below them on the company flowchart.
