Thanks. I was just making a point. They are doing good jobs with no oc experience.
Oh,you can count on it.
Jones will tell us all that "fit" is more important than a name. (Meaning someone willing to adopt his system no questions asked)
Then we will get the generic lecture about relationships and how we need someone who appreciates what a "special" place Tennessee is. Then he will address the faction of the fanbase who wanted a big name hire in a condescending manner. In a gentle rant filled with snide and sarcastic remarks, he will explain just how silly we are and know nothing of the process of winning.
Then he will introduce last season's water boy as the new OC.
Then prepare yourself for an entire off season of Butch apologists defending his decision and echoing his press conference here on VN.
Could have sworn that we almost beat 2 or the 4 playoff teams last year with this offense? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong about how many points we scored in 2014 when Dobbs came into the game in the 2nd quarter and we scored points. Had Bama not had that huge 1st quarter we could have won. They had trouble with out offense. It works and it's not even debatable.
Do you wake up every morning excited to critique Butch's every single move?
There are 3 things for certain in life...taxes, death, and Dudleys87 in every single thread bashing Butch's every single move no matter what it is.
News flash: Everything is speculation so far, yet you're already bashing Butch for a move he hasn't even made yet...in every thread smh.
Watson is an awesome player no doubt. But to their credit they called good games and used him about as good as anyone could. They also have had a Heisman-caliber QB for the 2 years they have been there. Granted, I'm sure they played a role in his recruitment and run an offense that caters to his abilities, but Watson would be thriving anywhere. He is a transcendent talent.
The player that made this offense "dynamic" is gone
Hopefully JG is just as dynamic or this offense will tank
It may not be what folks wanna hear, but Larry Scott is the next person on our staff to get a head coaching gig, so keeping him content and upgrading him to OC while he continues to be a strong recruiter could work out. I know it isnt the splash but he is gone in the next couple of years for a HC gig just like Mark Helf would have been....
