What happened to the dream team of Hoke, Helfrich, and Fair? I thought the wheels were in motion? When are y'all going to learn that UT always goes on the cheap when it comes to just about every hire and then can't understand why the results never change.

Absolutely agreed. Dobbs' legs covered a horrible blocking scheme in a pedestrian offense. Without a QB that runs like a deer, our offense will look more like the Worley lead offense.

To me Scott is one of the elite recruiters on staff and a good coach. I can see the benefits of keeping him and making him co/oc. That would be huge for recruiting. Not many oc's that are elite recruiters. I think if that happens we will get a pipeline going into Florida. That guy grew up there, played there and coached there. Imagine all the high school coaches he knows and trust him.

They also have had a Heisman-caliber QB for the 2 years they have been there. Granted, I'm sure they played a role in his recruitment and run an offense that caters to his abilities, but Watson would be thriving anywhere. He is a transcendent talent.

Without Dobbs' legs extending plays, this offense would look more like it did against SC.

It produced how many points against App. State? Ohio? And needed 5 turnovers against VT....It also has LOST to Vandy TWICE and a pathetic SCe team, too!

It failed to hold 2 TD leads against OK and Fla last year...

And that style of offense has NOT won a NC yet......

And the Bama comment is too ridiculous to mention....

I honestly hope Butch hires another system "homer" so someone will grow a spine after next year and get his over-matched azz out of Knoxville and send him back to the MAC where he belongs.

Having him on ignore for the last 6 months, I've also noticed he is a string poster. He usually posts 2-4 posts right after one another

i could be wrong sure, but i think everyone in the media had been saying he was gone take a job last year and he didnt so this year was it going to happen and saban was prepared for it without any hitches IMO.....

Watson is an awesome player no doubt. But to their credit they called good games and used him about as good as anyone could.

For the ones constantly throwing the offensive numbers up to defend the system, I ask you to consider just how much those numbers were padded because of Dobbs being able to turn a completely busted play into gains of ten to 20+ yards and several times scores.

Realistically speaking, Helf would be an awesome hire but I would look for him to be gone in 2-3 years for another HC gig.

Once you've been a HC, it's hard to play 2nd position to someone else...

Look at Kiffin, he got tired of being Saban's lackey...even a small HC position at FAU is better than being a SEC assistant.

The only thing I don't see is the Debord thing. Butch had his guy so I'm not sure why he would be wanting to go in house. I can see him doing it but I just think he should go out and get someone proven. I think Butch knows that but does he want to BELIEVE that.
