Debord to Indiana as OC

I would hold off on that statement until we see who he hires to replace him.

I think hiring Helfrich would be a grand slam, but let's face it, that would be outside of Butch's character to hire someone like him on the offensive side of the ball.

How do you know? He had Bajakian and now DeBord. Not much of a sample size to pretend he has tendencies.

Helfrich did visit UT's practice before the bowl the other day...Where there is smoke there is usually fire.

Dobbs ran for a ton of yards for a QB because of something people who watch football call a "keeper". Look it up, it's a popular thing now in college football offenses.

DeBord was a very good OC and I can use just about any statistical metric you want to justify it.

Yeah when he dropped back to pass and scrambled out of the pocket it was a designed 'keeper'. I find it amusing when someone attempts to be a smartazz only to end up looking even more foolish. And you using 'metrics' validates my point that you're a box score humper nothing more. Show me a metric for poor situational play calling that I saw with my sober eyes. Meaning a different set of eyes that I watched the games with as compared to most of the console flunkies in this forum, yourself included.

Now that he's gone , he's great. VN never change.

Helfrich wouldn't be committed for the long haul to any school where he'd be OC. I'm sure he's looking to turn any successful OC stint into another HC job, and that's fine.

If he did a good job at Tennessee, the OC opening when he left would attract a lot of good candidates, even if he was here for only a couple years.
Huh? Based on what? Nosediving Oregon in 2 years time? I doubt this guy has an aspirations to be a HC any time soon.

I heard that, but I also heard he was in town to watch Marcus Maroita's last home game of the season was the reason he was in town? But I agree usually when there is smoke there is fire.

Now I have to fight this overwhelming feeling that we will be disappointed with the new hire. I guess that comes with the territory being a Tennessee fan.

Why would he be there to watch Mariotta? He's out for the season.
