I'm familiar with who he's beaten. Those teams have always used Vanderbilt as a punching bag. Talking about bad competition, Vanderbilt was the bad competition. Nine wins there is immensely difficult no matter the competition.

Butch had a chance to be in the double digit win total this season and he didn't acheive it, while PSU has a shot at 12.

I hope Butch finds huge success at UT. I think his controlling nature will prevent him from doing so.

It wasn't just at Vandy. His OOC schedule was weak his first two years at PSU. Teams like Elon, Presbyterian, Army, UMass, UConn, Austin Peay, and Wake Forest should be beaten by Vandy. Vandy should also at least compete with Mizzou and UK every couple of years.

Heck, now Mason has had to play Western Kentucky and GTech out of conference.

I am not trying to say Butch is better than Franklin, but people get caught with records without knowing who they beat. If Butch doesn't play at Oregon in year one, he probably just coached his 4th straight bowl game regardless of the disappointment this year.

We are all disappointed this year, but people also put others on a huge pedestal when comparing them to what we have. The grass is not always greener.
