Monster year. The best adjustment made from 15 to 16 was the passing game. We got the ball downfield very effectively

Malone turned the corner and never looked back. Can remember all the doubt about whether he would ever come on expressed here.

I agree. That was dominant in every way against a pretty good football team. First time Urban Meyer has ever been shutout. Bama will have their hands full, I sure hope Clemson can pull it out. Can't wait to watch.

Think this is the first time I've ever disagreed with you. Need Saban to get his two overtake the Bear and get the hell out. Don't need Dabo thinking he's as good as Saban. Just don't think Saban is leaving until he gets the record..

I don't think 8-4 is bad enough to fire Butch in 2017. But his buyout drops a lot in 2017, to around 6 million or so.

If the university could afford Dooley's $5 million buyout in a year when they were financially in the red, they can pay $6 million for Butch next year. Revenue has been up on a consistent upswing the past 4 years.

The question should be "who could we get to replace Jones vs the $$$?" Unfortunately, we have no chances with any home run hire so we need to keep what we have.

I have 61 as well counting Jumper though. See below. I am also counting McDaniel as gone.

QB(3): Dormady, Jones, Guarantano
RB(2): Kelly, Fils-Aime
WR(7): George, Smith, Jennings, Byrd, Callaway, Williams, Johnson
TE(3): Wolf, Johnson, Pope
OL(12): Kendrick, Robertson, Thomas, Mosley, Jones, Hall, Richmond, Boulware, Niehaus, Johnson, Tatum, Brooks
DL(11): Mixon, Vickers, Johnson, Phillips, Kongbo Smith, Tuttle, McKenzie, Picou, Taylor, Butcher
LB(9): Berry, McDowell, Jumper, Bates, Bryant, Kirkland, Blakely, Bituli, Sapp
DB(11): Kelly, Berry, Moseley, Martin, Henderson, Griffin, Abernathy, Gaulden, Warrior, Osborne, Buchanon
ST(3): Medley, Daniel, Lovingood

I'm beginning to feel as if I am in the town of Rock Ridge (Blazing Saddles for those scratching their heads).

Same. But I've not counted out McDaniel or counted Jumper as permanent.

Has it been discussed why McDaniel was suspended?

My way too early starting 22ish because there's no football on this morning and I'm bored.

QB: Guarantano
RB: Kelly (CFA/Chandler get plenty of reps)
WR: Jennings
WR: Smith/Williams
WR: Callaway/Johnson
TE: Wolf
LT: Richmond
LG: Robertson
C: Thomas
RG: Jones
RT: Hall/Smith

DE: Taylor/Smith
DT: Vickers/Johnson
DT: Kmac/Tuttle
DE: Kongbo/Phillips
LB: Kirkland
LB: McDowell/Bituli
LB: Kelly Jr/Berry
NB: Gaulden
CB: Byrd
CB: Osborne/Buchanan
S: Warrior
S: Griffin/Kelly

Not sure on the defensive backs.. with a coaching change we could see guys change positions, guys emerge, etc. not sure what to expect there, but we have talent

9-3 (5-3)

I doubt they switch Byrd.

Got a question to all of you out there that know more about evaluating talent than I do. I hear quite a few on here talking about Abernathy being a better option at CB than what we are presently using. It seems to me he is on the losing end of quite a few TD's. Is he suited to be better at CB than Safety?
I'm not dogging him at all as i'm probably the king of Sunshine Pumpers but have wondered if I was just missing something about his play? I know he was injured some of the time.

I think we're gonna be pretty good next year. The hype is going to go away. And I think that will be good for us.

In his first 3 years Butch had us as one of the least penalized teams in the nation, one of the best in all areas of special teams, we took care of the football and generally did all of the little things pretty well. He wasn't a perfect coach by any means but these things gave us a chance and kept in some games we were overmatched in talent wise.

I think Butch mixed up the way he typically does things this year and it cost us in some of these areas. I think we'll look back at 2016 as an outlier season in terms of general clumsiness with the football (the Texas a&m game still gives me nightmares). We werent nearly as dominant as we've seen in the past at covering kicks either.

I love the pieces in place going into next year, contingent on a QB emerging. We're losing a lot, but we've had some talent especially on the defensive line and at QB that has been absolutely buried on the depth chart. Most won't take us seriously going into the season, but we'll be better than they think.

This may be a down recruiting season, but we are still going to get some really nice pieces. The top player in the nation and an anchor at LT isn't something we've had as a luxury the last few years. I think he will start early on and give us stability we haven't had. So excited.

I'm interested to see how some of the coaching staff changes shake out. But overall I'm feeling more positive about things now than I was a month or so back. I had to get away from this place for awhile. It was bringing me down too much. The recruiting season is too exciting to miss out on though. Feeling like we have a shot at a fairly strong finish.

Don't sleep on Sheriron Jones

Happy New Years and Go Big Orange forever

Who was it that said he was a bust before the season started and had reached his ceiling? We argued about it for a couple of pages lol.

So, has anyone discussed Wilkins grabbing on the tOSU player? Guess he was just searching for the ball, right?

Nice to see a non show boat commitment there by proctor just straight to point lol. I go VA Tech and just looked at them like don't ask me questions. I want to ball

I'd like to try Abernathy at CB. He's got speed. I just think he wasn't physical enough to play vs the run like a safety should do.

I think Abernathy started at CB if I remember correctly. Not sure if he was moved to S out of necessity i or if the staff saw a higher potential there.

Will be an interesting situation to watch this offseason

Anybody else see Sarkasian in the booth with around 4 mins left in the game? He picked his nose with his pinkie finger and then eat it. Somebody put a gif of it on here please lol.

Would Elway/the Broncos give serious consideration to hiring Saban if he called them up and said he was interested in the job?

Just wonder how respected he is in the NFL circles.

As dominant as he is in college, I'm sure the NFL would rather hire some career failure who has been fired 8 times in the league already over Saban.

For him to take the job he'd demand full control. Elway won't give him that.

Micah's a CB or NB IMO. He's definitely not a centerfielder as well as not being physical enough to handle TE's and heavy run support at the LOS. He is quick, good in coverage, good instincts, and is capable of contain on the outside. There was a point in camp that Gaulden tweeted out his disappointment about a coaching decision. It is clear to me that is what it was because I saw him and Micah working at the S position in scrimmage type drills. The next practice he was working with Foreman at NB. Poor decision IMO.
