Exactly where I have it. Another 9-4 would be worthy of an extension to Butch IMO. Anything better than that he needs to make bank.

Hope to be pleasantly surprised. The positives for doing better are I think the O-line will dominate next season if our play calling reflects it. I think Chandler can be worked into it with Kelly early. Still have talent at WR and TE, so a simpler passing game could still work despite the QB inexperience. The healing of D players will help along with a full conversion to Shoop's scheme. That can be huge because opponents will not be able to get a handle on it until later in the season. ST should be strong with all the experience coming back.

Hiring a big time S&C guy is mandatory.

The frontloaded schedule is what could trip us up early. I think many are underestimating the impact Dobbs had. When he played well, we looked great; when he was held back or had a bad game, the offense croaked. It will take time to sync new players and get the offense running. We have three tough games in Sept and draw Bama and LSU from the West. I think it will be challenging.

One thing that will help us this year is that we don't have any tough back-to-backs. If we experience some growing pains against GT or Florida we have an extra week of practice and another game to work out any issues(or possible change QBs) before we have another tough game. It should help prevent any snowball effect to the season

What does "calling me out" have to do with not wanting a safe space? I'm not sure the words you're using mean what you think they mean.

"I don't want a safe space: I just react with hostility to those with opinions that don't align with my own." Lol

I would think a safe space wouldn't have hostility in it. I've grown quite comfortable now with the hostility here. I'm also comfortable with the differing opinions: I just personally don't like or respect the ones that appear to have an exhausting and boring anti-Butch Jones, "lets dwell on the negatives" agenda attached to them. I'm fine with folks posting them.

In any event time to move on from the tit for tat. Yesterday's win was too much fun and I'm really enjoying reading up on it!

Front loaded? We have the following

N GT
H cupcake
@ UF
H cupcake
H UGA
BYE
H USC

One true away game and a neutral field out of the first 6.

Secondary is the same across the board. Cam Sutton was out most of the year. You said we will lose our production, Shy Tuttle is and will be on the team and plugging him into the "lost player" is a falsification to help you feel better about your woe is me narrative.

We lose the sacks but not "most" with tackling. Here are some numbers.

Nobody has any idea what Shy Tuttle will or will not do. There's really no reason to be an a$$. It was a civil dialogue and not everybody agrees with you.

Watching this Kentucky vs Georgia Tech game right now and I'm really not looking forward to playing GT next fall. These guys cut block on almost every single play, you're basically guaranteed to lose a DL or two when you play them. Great.

Hush YO mouth... we certainly don't need any negative mojo about our D line in any way, shape, or form! :p

I do agree they are looking pretty good, but our D at full health to start the season should do pretty well against that type of run... any team that doesn't primarily throw, we should handle...
I think we can all agree that even with all the injuries, departures, etc on our D line and LB spot, our biggest glaring weakness is our secondary covering the pass... we are VERY bad at the CB/DB spot and cannot cover our own shadow. If this is not addressed and fixed in the off season, it will continue to be our achilles heel and keep any team on the field on third down and allow them to gobble up the big gains on the long ball.

And he could make a substantial amount more in next years draft if he continues to develop to go in the late 1st to 3rd
If he has a big combine he could go in the 2nd or 3rd this year. He had good production this year and he has the measurables.

100% agree. Bama and LSU are L's without some good fortune and the front load is filled with land mines. The season will be determined by the results of September when as you say, it will take time to sync new players.

Tough schedule with the roster/coaching situation.

Being constantly reminded how bad our D was in these bowl games. KY with 147 yards and 3 points at halftime.

Watching both teams this year. GT's D is not great so it really shows how poor our D was. But our D was decent enough vs Tucky except for two late scores. How did this team beat Lousiville. Just puts into perspective how college football really is tough week in and out and how upsets can happen when trying to complete a whole season.

It was a civil dialogue, then you called me an *******

nice edit btw.

don't get mad because I called you out on your inaccuracies. Just trying to help. You have these assumptions that aren't that accurate. sorry :dunno:

Good stuff. The good book says to train them up as they should go and when they are older they will not depart from it. :)

I want no part of Helfrich as OC. That offense wasn't his in Oregon and once it became his they sucked. If he is the QB coach then that's fine.

Anyone wanting Debord gone is crazy. We need him back badly as the green isn't always greener on the other side as CJJ can tell us that.
