Nice finish for this team. Malone came on strong but why did he wait so long to step up his game?

Sure will miss Barnett and Dobbs next year. Those two were the leaders of the offense and defense. Hard to replace guys like that. Malone will probably leave as well depending on his draft status, which should be pretty high.

Malone "stepped up his game" from the get-go this year.....recall the long TD pass in game 1 vs App state that essentially saved the game for us.

Yeah...I wish he wouldn't do that. He can toot his own horn...sure...but I'd prefer along with that.... he acknowledge the disappointment of everyone and then vow to fix it. I don't like the acting like he's done us a big favor by coming here...and that we should be happy for "only" 4 losses..as if he's exceeding expectations.

It's like "how dare you hicks get upset or be disappointed...do you realize what a garbage program I took over?...a simple 'thank you Butch' would be nice you rednecks".

I'm exaggerating...but you know what I mean. And I like the guy.

You say exaggerating but it is Interesting how you use quotes as if those thoughts are exactly what CBJ said. Good way to start negative rumors. I agree with poster who said he was recruiting by pointing out rise of program last few years. Still have a ways to go but UF was worth price of my season tickets this year.

15 of the last 19 is pretty good. Sure could have been 17, or could have just as easily been 13, just enjoy the win. Stop and consider if before the season you knew all the injuries most would gladly take 9 wins. Nothing you can say about losing to SC and Vandy, and minus 7 turnovers at aTm that could have been a win too. I've been pretty frustrated with Butch at times, mainly just want him to shut up with all the cliches and coach speak, but I still think he can get us there. The program as a whole is in much better shape than it was 4 years ago. I'll feel better after the AD hire (hopefully) and a strength & conditioning coach, and secondary coach...

With all the injuries Nebraska was experiencing I think this game is somewhat meaningless. It was good to get a win , but the difference in the talent on the field yesterday was very significant.

But Butch has to be thinking what his career would have been like if he could have gotten that Purdue job. I believe he would at least be a division winner in that conference.

Heck, maybe we should petition to join the BIG. It seems to be our level of competition.

Injuries didn't cost us USC win. We had 2 weeks to prepare. Injuries didn't blow the halftime lead with the Sugar Bowl on the line.

He was recruiting. Selling the recent success of the program.

You are one of the few people who gets it as to what Butch is doing. Fact is, he is ALWAYS recruiting. He stays relentlessly positive even when i am sure he is tempted not to feel like it and he knows recruits are always watching what he says about his players and his team.

I may prefer a different way of doing it but fact is CBJ is 24/7 365 living his job, recruiting for the next year. Now all he needs to do is start winning a few more and everyone will think he is a genius, along the lines of Vince Lombardi. Its all about winning.

Loved the game. But Butch made me upset during the presentation. He made a point to remind fans we have won 15 of last 19 games. Thought that was a shot at us fans. Should have been 17 wins though.

I can understand that since Butch took great pains to distinguish Team 120 from 119. To all of a sudden dump them all together is self-serving. But, oh well. He's still a Champion of life, so there.

You bet. Thank God we didn't have any injuries...

And you and the rest of the conspiracy theory necks can think Jones wanted the Purdue job all you want but it doesn't make it true.
And guess what? Santa and the Easter bunny aren't real either.

So constant shots at him are ok, but him taking shots is a no no?
