Just like it is with hoping the president is a great one even if you didn't vote for him, I hope your 11-1 prediction is right. My only agenda with respect to UT athletics is that I want to see them successful. Who leads us to wins is immaterial to me.

Sounds like you and I may agree on more than we disagree on. I back this post 100% - my sentiments exactly.

Here we go with the drooling over Garrett! Please, someone explain to me why he is so special when he doesn't do anything against good competition? If he's so special why doesn't that show up when he plays against the SEC?

Basilio was talking about the AD search as well. Maybe he got his info from Hubbs, but it does seem to be the way the administration is heading. We are seriously going to screw the pooch here. Basilio believes that they are trying to delay and give Blackburn so many hoops to jump through that he removes himself from consideration and they can claim that they tried to hire him but he didn't want it. TIFIW.
To be fair though, Basilio is a complete joke with no idea of what's really going on in UT athletics.

Revisionist history. That was a team loaded with NBA talent that took a while to gel. When it did they put together one of the top 10 or so runs in basketball program history. The ridiculous elements of our fanbase didn't have the patience to see it through.

They hit the panic button after a slow start, raised the petition and then when the team took off, they were forced by their own stupidity to either pull against the team or (crazier yet) take full credit for the run (e.g., we lit a fire!).

Cuonzo was a solid coach and recruiter. I have no idea how he would have done long term but he deserved much better treatment then what he got. He had us in the NCAA hunt all three years - something we haven't done since.

Have to disagree. Most of that NBA talent was leaving and Cuonzo knew it would be difficult to survive the next year so he got out while he could.

Has he done anything tonight

Because he's usually hurt. He's soft af.

You would think that if he is really so special that he would actually perform against good competition

That's what I don't understand...Everybody wants to project him to be some kind of monster in the NFL because of his measurable and I'm just like...Okay, cool. Is he going to suddenly just start going 100% on every play? Because he certainly doesn't now.

JMO...

Butch told Perry no baseball because his grades were off, and he needed to get that in order, not "no baseball, then grades fell."

He clearly takes plays off. Motor isn't anywhere close to Barnetts

Did Nick create a Nebraska game day thread? Can't find one and I feel it's time to start talking about the beat down we are about to put in another big 10 team.

My apologies, but I have not. It's kind of snuck up on me, and I've just not been in the best mood recently so I haven't really looked into anything about Nebraska. I will try to do a simple thread by tomorrow

He had literally stood in place to not get hit every play he's been in

I've noticed that. He made no effort to tackle the RB on that long run play. He could have at least slowed him down if it stopped him behind the line. He didn't even try. I wouldn't draft him in the first 2 rounds if I were and NFL team

But Perry's grades weren't a problem until spring semester 2016. He was practicing football during he time he would've been playing baseball.

That timeline doesn't match up so well.

He hurt his knee in preseason camp in 2015, and it was serious enough to miss the whole season. I believe playing baseball in the spring of 2016 was a long shot even if he wanted to play.

Even so, if he can't keep his grades up without baseball, then he would have trouble doing it with baseball, regardless of the reason.

He has 0 tackles and they are still talking about him as if he is Reggie White. I know I'm biased because I'm a Barnett fan, but this doesn't have anything to do with bias. He hasn't done much of anything against real competition. He is without a doubt the most overrated player that I can remember since I've been watching college football

Jesse: They wouldn't try that jet sweep to Garretts side of the field. He'd probably blow it up.

No sh!t Jesse you run it to the side where you score the touchdown.

Not arguing that, just saying that the timeline doesn't make sense for him to have been denied the chance to play baseball because of grades.

He was full go in spring practices health and academics-wise. He would have been able to participate with the baseball team on some level (assuming they'd take him, of course) if he'd gotten the go ahead.
