Well said. I agree. I don't know to what extent Butch sought Juco or grad transfers for this class for positions of immediate need, but in UT's situation, it seems like that would've been a good strategy.

Couple that with Hubbs spraying innuendo like Adam Jones spraying 20s on a Friday nite and I starting to come around. Lol.

It still is a possibility. Grad transfers aren't on the market until after the season ends. We'll see if there's a DT out there that is interested.

True and good point. Corner back might make sense too. Did Butch recruit any Juco players agressively for this class?

Yeah not sure anyone could categorize Akers as a heavy lean. Maybe slight lean but never a heavy lean. Always sounded like a heavy FSU Lean to me. I think this is all part of the blame game from staff. Brice was not happy with the Haney article and I recall someone saying to expect to see some of that finger pointing to happen as an excuse for not landing Akers. Brice probably trying to mend some fences somewhere with that comment. Although he did say a week or so ago he had some coaches in SEC say Akers recruitment had an AAU feel to it.

Trouble with this is that the new AD is not known and folks have no clue whether the new AD will think the football program is on track or off track.

The speculation that is being driven by the media and the part of this fan base that would complain and want change even if UT was undefeated is the problem.

The only one I can think of that he tried hard on was JUCO CB Keisean Nixon (USCe). Maybe trying to take fewer chances on JUCO's after Kongbo wasn't ready to contribute like many thought he would be, plus guys like CB-DJ Henderson (presumed redshirt), DT-Alexis Johnson (presumed redshirt, injured and out of shape) & WR-Jeff George (1 catch on the season).

Sounds like you're going to need to outcoach him . Not sure Butch or staff is there yet.

My optimism lasted all the way up to the final announcement. Hate we didn't get him. Glad we have JG and Chandler tho! This offense should be elite with the right coaching. Hopefully Helfrich can come in and help with that

Another rejection by a hotly recruited player.

Brick by brick baby. Soon we will be a MAC conference level team as Jones becomes the most hated coach in the SEC. No one will play for him. 8-4 will be his high water point.
