'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

we'll be favored in 10 or 11 games next year
with or without JGuarantano at the helm
butch isn't going anywhere
negative recruiting isn't hurting UGA

Their fan base isn't as near as critical as ours. We act as if we've had Bama's run the last 6 years, and now we are suddenly in back to back 9-4 seasons. I know Butch isn't going anywhere, nor would I want him to anytime soon, because we are just now getting this ship headed in the right direction. Another coaching would make us look like we got the mange to recruits and coaches.

I never understand the quote " you have to give the staff credit for keeping UT in it ". Does it really matter if you are "in it" in recruiting? In the end it's all about landing the player. All we did in the end was waste resources on a guy that realistically we all knew wouldn't come to ut.

Then you don't "realistically" land any great players. Byrd last year comes to mind. Dude was flashing Canes all during the All-America games.

I'd rather lose a recruit or two than have a coach with a buyout anywhere in the same galaxy as 45 million.

Are you saying that's a good thing for a program?

EXACTLY...CJF easily could be on the proverbial "hot seat" in a year or two and now you're sitting on an island...Thought about that yesterday watching Miss St....Head Coach Dan Mullen 1 year ago had the program places it had never been before with a QB who very easily could be Rookie of the Year in the league this year. And now after a rocky year in 2016 there are MORONS calling for his head....Hate to use the word but it fits so much in our world today...STUPIDITY!!

We forgot you're the ultimate talent evaluator.

Richmond redshirted so he's only had one year to make an "impact."
If he had been as good as Hall has been he would not have redshirted.

If you read the feature article on Smith in the Sunday Jackson Sun you will find that he had decided on Tennessee before his sister was on staff. Its a pretty cool story on what convinced him.

"I'm really staying HOME, and I've decided to give my services to Mississippi College Choctaws. They've offered me a full ride, and said I can still live at home while I attend school. I'd like to thank all the coaches (esp Coach Gillespie) and universities who have found me worthy enough to offer a scholarship, but there's nothing like my Momma's cooking."

-Sincerely,
Cam Akers

Can someone, anyone figure out a way to teach our fan base that things MUST GET A LOT WORST before the UT administration fires CBJ....I hate to see people get "excited" I guess is the word at the prospects of firing a current coach and hiring a new one....THAT IS NOT WHERE YOU WANT YOUR PROGRAM TO BE...CBJ IS NOT going anywhere (unless he decides to go on his own). It's just absolutely amazing to me that people actually believe the system works like that....Heck...we don't even have an AD in place yet....CBJ is doing TONS OF STUFF RIGHT and that's more what the admin looks at as long as he's winning at a respectable rate (which any moron who is only a casual observer would know)...PHEW...and this silliness will continue all off season...

so is all the FSU hype around Akers because of coaches leaking info or what?

disgruntled staffs ruining his moment?

is that why we're assuming it isn't us? because a bitter coach hasn't leaked the kid's choice?

Either way, even if we do miss out on Akers, you can't put the blame on Butch and Coach G. They've tried everything in their power to get Akers on board.

Cam Akers is NOT coming to Tenn............Butch Jones blew his chance by losing meaningless games in which other coaches will recruit against that by saying to the kid/s "do you want to go there, he will not be there next year"......Winning MATTERS !!
