Amari Rodgers steered Tee to Clemson. And now Amari and Tee are working to steer other in-state players away from UT. The elites train, camp and play on All-Star teams together. Peer recruiting hurt UT this year-- when it should have helped.

love the excuses and rationalizations on here to make folks feel better... the coaches simply didn't get it done. We are getting some really good kids, but we definitely missed on some elite talent instate and close by.... time will tell how well kids pan out and develop or don't....

I always understood it that Amari had some kind of beef with UT (either from his Dad, something else, or a combination of the two) and started the steering of Johnson, then they both worked on Higgins.

The truth hurts ... but this is the truth.

The complaint among coaches and fans for decades has been TN doesn't have enough home grown talent. Welp. We had it and couldn't figure out how to bring 'em in.

It's all about the wins and losses, on the field and in recruiting. All excuses aside (whether they're valid or not), the coaches simply didn't get it done.

All that being said, I'm hopeful for a strong finish and a few surprises.

How long would it take a coordinated effort by the RF to convince everyone Volatil is a legit insider? However long it takes, I vote we commit to it.

Just received a text from Volatil. He confirmed that Tee is flipping to the Vols on Christmas Day

Getting Chandler and Smith doesn't make missing on Higgins BETTER. Just good on it's own. Rather have both than just him.

Amari's issue is with CBJ. Amari and Tee are friends and have trained together. IDK HJ and I'm not sure what happened to turn him against UT. But HJ and Amari tag-team recruit against UT and now Tee has joined them. It's good the Mays brothers are solid legacies.

What issue is that?

I'm predicting Lamar Jackson, like most of petrino's players (if not all) will not do well in the NFL. He's a system guy, just like a lot of the high performing players throughout his career

One of the best instate recruiting years and Butch let's Clemson come in and clean house. Tee's boy never seemed interested in UT.
Missed out on plenty of other big targets including Tee Higgins, running backs, OL, DBs.

At least we got Chandler and Smith, but this could have been a legendary class.

So they are acting like jilted high school ex girlfriends. Got it.

No. He threatened to keep choking away championships.

OUCH......

On a serious note, I seem to remember the vibe being that Tee rolled in to Knoxville like it was a paid vacation and never had any intention on coming back... taking advantage of the situation, Butch, and his Alma Mater...

why would his kid have beef with that?
