Main suspect in Berlin attack is a Tunisian migrant who had a "certificate of tolerance" from the German government.

Sounds Legit

Certificate of tolerance?!haha

I had never heard of this phrase, "Certificate of Tolerance," so I looked it up as I was suspicious, given the poster who quoted it.

I can find only one source that uses that phrase, or anything like it: Bretibart.

I cannot even find it used in the general vernacular there, not even in association with this incident or just generally.

You're a hack.

Report: German minister laments ?sluggish? refugee returns | News | DW.COM | 01.06.2016

There were over 219,000 migrants set to be expelled from Germany, according to the Interior Ministry report based on March 31 data. Almost 168,000 of them had been issued the so-called Duldung (tolerance) permits, allowing them to stay in the country until obstacles for their deportation are cleared.

Schien; seems to be related to certificate, document, voucher.

Sounds like they're saying the gov't, in an attempt to apply tolerance to those continually knocking at the door, granted the migrant guest-visa of some sort; the man seems to have then showed contempt as a guest.

What kind of guest tears up the host's house? Seems the intention is to destroy and conquer thru distruption.

First, that's not the same thing.

Second, the latest reports on REAL news sites say that this guy was arrested in August and released, and was on authorities' radar screens because of ties to extremist groups and efforts to purchase a gun.

Third, other than Breitbart, I can find no reference to something called a "Certificate of Tolerance." Can you?

LOL at what you call "real news"

In the meantime, more detail has emerged about the suspect Anis A from two seemingly well-sourced pieces in Sueddeutsche and from state broadcaster Tagesschau.

He is said to have arrived in Italy in 2012, and came to Germany in July 2015, where he applied for asylum.

Since April 2016 his status has been that of Duldung or “temporary suspension of deportation”, which means his application was rejected but he hasn’t been forcefully evicted.

Wondering how the driver fled from a busy area with apparently not much detection.

One translation of "Duldung" in German is "tolerance".

I don't know what it will take for liberals to finally get it. A policy that literally translates to "tolerance" allowed this lunatic to remain in their country and carry out a terrorist attack. But it won't change anything to them- liberalism is a mental disorder.

It certainly seems like terrorism, by an Islamic extremist, at that.

Does that make you feel better?

I'm just saying you repeated Breitbart's apparently false title for the document.

What does "duldung" mean in German? "Tolerance"

From German description of the "duldung".

Duldung

The Duldung or “temporary suspension of deportation” is no Aufenthaltserlaubnis (temporary residence permit). It is a certificate which is issued for refugees who are obliged to leave Germany .

So, duldung literally means "tolerance", and this form of "duldung" is literally a "certificate" issued to a person.

Therefor, it is *literally* a "tolerance certificate"!
