He isn't a top-tier athlete. Barnett is very much below average.

The thing about college football is guys that lack elite athleticism can be monsters. See Scobby Wright III.

I'm not saying Barnett will go in the 7th round like Scobby or fail to make an active roster during his rookie year. I'm just using that example to show that dominating statistically in college doesn't neccesarily mean you will dominate in the NFL.

With that said, I still see Barnett being a good NFL player even with his athletic limitations. I compare him to Charles Johnson (Panthers) or Michael Bennett (Seahawks) in the NFL. He'll be a solid starter for 10 years, however, I don't see him being a transcendent player like I see Myles Garrett being.

Myles Garrett has a chance to be Bruce Smith 2.0. He's got hall of fame talent.
You get dumber by the post.Garrett will get abused in the NFL.He's way to fragile.

He's a pro-style QB that we didn't offer, but we're getting out-recruited on him? :ermm:

I didn't say we offered him, I am saying we are getting a 3 star and Vandy is getting 4 star. And yes I know our is 2017 and theirs is 2018, the point still stands. Our QB recruiting stinks at the moment.

Our recruiting is bad right now, here's to hoping Kirby can't put it together anytime soon, UGA doing really well on the recruiting trail

Mark Helfrich, come on down!

A guy can hope right?

Browns are eyeing him as overall number 1, which would all but confirm he's going to be a bust.
He's weak and doesn't play the run.He will get eaten alive by most LT in the league.I know he has great measurables but that doesn't always translate to production.Every game I've watched him play against good competition he's a no show

Well, if we're talking about multiple years, then should we not factor that we got the #1 DT QB in '16. And he's already a part of the team, unlike Vandy's '18 guy.

Agree. Doesn't matter if you look the part if you can't play the part.

Please stop dude. He's a pro-style QB. There's a reason we didn't offer him.

Good grief.

Again, I never said we offered him. Glad we were able to out recruit Memphis for our QB though.

You don't sound glad.

SIAP. Just read this on Fox Sports

"Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
Nebraska (9-3, 6-3 Big Ten) vs. No. 21 Tennessee (8-4, 4-4 SEC)
Dec. 30 – 3:30 p.m., ESPN
Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tenn.

Average Line: Tennessee, -3

Whether anyone in Knoxville wants to admit to it or not, Vols head coach Butch Jones is coaching for his job in this game. If Tennessee loses and finishes with five losses (one more than they had last season), Jones can probably start looking around for work.

Cornhuskers head coach Mike Riley isn’t any more comfortable than Jones, however a strong second half of the season might have given him a reprieve, win or lose here.

Tennessee can’t take care of the ball, finishing with -2 turnover margin including a whopping 13 fumbles lost, and 12 interceptions thrown this year. Nebraska thrives on taking it away, especially in the passing game where they’ve intercepted opposing quarterbacks 16 times this season.

It’s all going to come down to Vols QB Joshua Dobbs and how well he takes care of the football. Given his track record, things don’t look good for Big Orange.

Prediction: The Tennessee foundation that has been crumbling this season will give way. Take Nebraska in the upset."

We can lose by 40 and Hat doesn't have the all's to pull the trigger on Jones he won't admit he made a mistake he will let the next AD make the kill shot.:)

Good Grief, so any time you point out weak points in Tennessee recruiting now, you are a hater?

So QB is a weak point? Last time I checked Butch recruited Dobbs to UT and landed the number one dual threat QB last year. Both 4*s just like the Vandy QB you are up in arms about. And don't forget about Dormandy who is also a solid QB. I don't call that a weak point in our recruiting.

When you point out things that don't have ish to do with UT recruiting for the mere point of downing on UT recruiting... Yes.

I am pointing out we have a weak 3 star recruit we had to steal from Memphis as our QB for 2017 class, how does that not have ish to do with Tennessee.

I just saw where Nebraska's leading WR will be out for the game--- isn't their QB out as well, or is he now coming back? I remember initially there was a lot of talk about him not playing in the bowl game...
