'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

https://youtu.be/9Kb8I6nwI34

If you don't see elite balance and change of direction in that video (with particular attention to the Florida game highlights), then I don't know what to do for you.

When you have the type of speed Cook has, change of direction and balance isn't displayed nearly as often because he beats his man to the edge or simply outruns everyone. Kamara doesn't have near that type of speed so he has to rely on that balance and change of direction more often. It doesn't mean that Cook doesn't possess those skills. He just has to rely on them much less. He will likely run a full tenth of a second faster, if not more, than Kamara at the combine.

It's fine for you to cheer on Kamara, but you often do so with such hyperbole (perennial Pro-Bowler, really???) that it makes it hard to take it seriously. It's also possible both players have really nice NFL careers. One doesn't have to affect the other.

One thing is for sure though, one player, Cook, will be a 1st rounder while the other, Kamara will be a late 2nd rounder at best, and probably a 3rd rounder. So, let's suppose you know more than 32 NFL GMs, coaches, and front office personnel, and Kamara smokes Cook as a pro, I'll be the first to congratulate you. As of now, the odds are stacked against your prediction.

That's not saying much considering these are the same idiots that picked Jared Goff #1 overall.

Every year NFL teams make stupid decisions. I called that Goff would be a bust last year before the draft. And now I'm calling Kamara will be worlds better than Cook regardless of where the dummies in NFL front offices slot them.

Kamara is in another league than Cook.

Tennessee fans really don't understand what type of talent he is. Kamara will absolutely be a Pro-Bowler.

Kamara is NFL level slot WR and RB. He never takes a clean hit, and his vision and setting up blocks are excellent.
Very sound pass blocker.

He has good speed but superb lateral quickness.

Leonard Fournette is the only clear cut RB better than him imo.

McAfferey should be good as well.

Dave Hart functioned at an MTSU level on every aspect of this athletic program...in terms of coaching potential hires, money ceilings for pay and expense, We could go on. he has seriously been a disaster on every level. Even worse than Mike Hamilton.

This is a statement so ridiculous that you can't even argue it. It would be fool's folly.

Doesn't look good per VQ. Family has evidently cut off communication with coaches after their visit. They are giving the nod to FSU because of perceived instability with the program.

No flame, but that's not really what they said. They said they don't really know how the visit with the coaches went because the Akers family has cut off communication with so many people.

They also added this:
"LSU is still in the picture as well, but some believe this is coming down to Tennessee and Florida State late in the game."

Sorry for any confusion. They did say also verbatim,

"and while Tennessee has always been a factor and still is, it seems the Vols are now facing an uphill battle.

You must have missed sandune, the stalker, say FSU wasn't an elite program.

This is where you are either a simpleton or a dishonest pos. Currently, this year, right now, FSU is not elite unless you want to water the word down. And since we are going with cyber pet names, I'm going to start calling you Bruin the liar since you're the most dishonest piece of trash I've ran across in quite some time.

Yep. Definitely an uphill battle. FSU leading in a dead period likely means we need this to go to February.

Umm..that is sooooo not what the argument us. You need to get caught up from early this afternoon.

That's the problem with people that just blurt out comments without seeing what the crux of what the argument is. Apparently people can't read for sh1t. Trollboy said that FSU is currently light years ahead of Tennessee. His intentions are to sabotage the thread probably in hopes of Cam Akers landing at FSU. This allows him to continue with his tired act, which is more important than supporting the team he supposedly cheers for. Unless some of you skipped the season, FSU didn't exactly set the world on fire this year or the year before. And being an elite program doesn't equal letting a team put 60 plus points on the board in a game.

It's UT and FSU. LSU is on the outside looking in. FSU is selling the Dalvin Cook replacement scenario. They're telling him look what he did, and you can have the same success. CJG is a good recruiter also and has been to Clinton in the past week or two. Now, for us, his family has came to campus numerous times in the past 2 years. Far more than anywhere else (FSU). There's no need for an Official because he's seen what he needs to see and his family has also. It isn't a big deal as some are making it out to be that he's not taking an Official visit to Knoxville. He's playing it close and there are no leaks as to where he's going. Our shot is as good as any, but if CRG goes elsewhere, you can cancel Christmas on this one. CRG has got us to where we are now with Akers, and Akers trusts CRG. What UT is selling is that UT "Brand". His brand starts in Knoxville.

Ummm where is the quote about "instability within the program" you mentioned in the earlier post or did you just pull that out of your behind?

Being a numbers guy, according to the 2015 revenue/profit numbers, Tennessee is by far the superior brand. It ranked third in all of college football, only behind Texas and Notre Dame. Tennessee had a team value of $121 million and a profit of $70 million. FSU had $70 and $39 million, respectively. Tennessee's profit alone was worth the team value of FSU. And from what I hear 2016 only seems to be better for Tennessee.

Now I understand your point, FSU has had more on field success lately, but it still doesn't take away from Tennessee's brand. Although FSU has put 124 players in the NFL over the last 20 years, Tennessee has 106. Even with our lack of production on the field lately, we still get players to the NFL. The entire country knows what that orange Power T represents.

Yet we can't afford a decent coach. Wow!

This thread has been taken over by our good friend "Bruin". May I suggest you take a break from your keyboard and stop with the useless nonsense. Or better yet, why don't you go give Jimbo a big hug considering you're so hung up on FSU right now. You're an expert at recruiting so obviously we should just take your word for it right? Cam Akers to FSU! Book it. :)

" Because of some perceived instability within in the program in Knoxville the last few weeks we believe some close to Akers have had more questions than usual about the long-term outlook at Tennessee."

Please drink your coffee.
