If FSU isn't an elite program then Bama must be the only one by your definition. IMO FSU is damn sure one of the elite programs in the country. Number 3 IMO behind Bama and Ohio State at the present.
Yes. I am not afraid to apologize when I am wrong. This isn't one of those times. FSU is WAY ahead of the Vols program. You can word it anyway you want but it's true.
You're not a realist, you're just apparently ignorant to what the word brand means. I gave you an out earlier in this thread and you chose to double down and show you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.
We are in the recruiting forum and the word "brand" is simple. It's the perception that a program has with recruits. And yes the "brand" FSU has is WAY ahead of the Vols when it comes to what recruits think.
Not surprised you'd say that. You think Alvin Kamara is the second coming of Marshall Faulk.
The only thing stopping Cook from being a star will possibly be durability.
As for AK vs Cook, Cook is significantly more talented between the tackles and has a much better chance at a bell-cow, 3-down roll in the NFL. He is a Jamaal Charles clone. You think AK is Marshall Faulk 2.0, but in reality, it is more likely he is Kevin Faulk 2.0, and that isn't necessarily a knock on him. Kevin Faulk had a nice, long NFL career as mostly a 3rd down back.
How can you look at dalvin cook and not not immediately think "star" especially if he ends up at the Packers or colts like some mock drafts have
Back to back 3 loss seasons including a loss to a mid major team last year and allowing 60 points to a team that just lost to Kentucky equals right behind Bama and Ohio State? Do you even read the nonsense you type before pressing send?
Exactly correct just as I said regarding recruits.
If Tennessee finishes ahead of FSU in the recruiting rankings this year it will be a miracle. It won't happen.
Being a numbers guy, according to the 2015 revenue/profit numbers, Tennessee is by far the superior brand. It ranked third in all of college football, only behind Texas and Notre Dame. Tennessee had a team value of $121 million and a profit of $70 million. FSU had $70 and $39 million, respectively. Tennessee's profit alone was worth the team value of FSU. And from what I hear 2016 only seems to be better for Tennessee.
Now I understand your point, FSU has had more on field success lately, but it still doesn't take away from Tennessee's brand. Although FSU has put 124 players in the NFL over the last 20 years, Tennessee has 106. Even with our lack of production on the field lately, we still get players to the NFL. The entire country knows what that orange Power T represents.
Seeing that you are batting 0, I have more faith that it probably will happen. And you have yet to say anything remotely....'realistic'. Now take your azz to the Seminole board.
Agree on the injury part. That is a serious concern but if he's able to stay relatively healthy he will be a consistent top back in the league.Skinny legs, poor balance, not great change of direction.
At best he can be like CJ2K. He might have 2-3 great (maybe even phenomenal) seasons but he won't have a long NFL career. He'll be injury prone and fall off rather quickly. He's just not built for it.
Kamara on the other hand will have a long and fruitful NFL career. I see the next Marshall Faulk.
The biggest difference between Cook and Kamara is lower body girth, balance, and change of direction.
Both are very explosive but Cook has some skinny legs and doesn't have elite balance and change of direction to go along with them. Kamara on the other hand has very thick calves and phenomenal balance. You see how many tackles he breaks every game? Its rare to see one guy take him down. Cook on the other hand gets taken down rather easily often. Kamara also has elite change of direction. The guy is just made to be a RB. Cook has more of a sprinter or slot receiver build.
IMO this comparison will be laughable in a few years. Cook while talented is destined to be injury prone thanks to those skinny legs while Alvin will be a perennial pro-bowler.
This is absolutely spot on 💯https://youtu.be/9Kb8I6nwI34
If you don't see elite balance and change of direction in that video (with particular attention to the Florida game highlights), then I don't know what to do for you.
When you have the type of speed Cook has, change of direction and balance isn't displayed nearly as often because he beats his man to the edge or simply outruns everyone. Kamara doesn't have near that type of speed so he has to rely on that balance and change of direction more often. It doesn't mean that Cook doesn't possess those skills. He just has to rely on them much less. He will likely run a full tenth of a second faster, if not more, than Kamara at the combine.
It's fine for you to cheer on Kamara, but you often do so with such hyperbole (perennial Pro-Bowler, really???) that it makes it hard to take it seriously. It's also possible both players have really nice NFL careers. One doesn't have to affect the other.
One thing is for sure though, one player, Cook, will be a 1st rounder while the other, Kamara will be a late 2nd rounder at best, and probably a 3rd rounder. So, let's suppose you know more than 32 NFL GMs, coaches, and front office personnel, and Kamara smokes Cook as a pro, I'll be the first to congratulate you. As of now, the odds are stacked against your prediction.
Makes me think that we should have gotten more money from Nike.
Dave Hart functioned at an MTSU level on every aspect of this athletic program...in terms of coaching potential hires, money ceilings for pay and expense, We could go on. he has seriously been a disaster on every level. Even worse than Mike Hamilton.
