Trey Smith just walked into the restaurant I'm at. He's massive. I patted him on the shoulder and told him "Go Vols." That makes me weird, doesn't it?

Did you scream like a 1960's school girl that just saw elvis or the beatles, now that would be weird.

Not athletic enough.

- message board talent guru

He isn't a top-tier athlete. Barnett is very much below average.

The thing about college football is guys that lack elite athleticism can be monsters. See Scobby Wright III.

I'm not saying Barnett will go in the 7th round like Scobby or fail to make an active roster during his rookie year. I'm just using that example to show that dominating statistically in college doesn't neccesarily mean you will dominate in the NFL.

With that said, I still see Barnett being a good NFL player even with his athletic limitations. I compare him to Charles Johnson (Panthers) or Michael Bennett (Seahawks) in the NFL. He'll be a solid starter for 10 years, however, I don't see him being a transcendent player like I see Myles Garrett being.

Myles Garrett has a chance to be Bruce Smith 2.0. He's got hall of fame talent.

Myles Garrett has never proved anything. Why does he get crowned by everyone? It's all hype and production against garbage teams.

It only takes a few plays to see what Myles Garrett is about.

He's athletically on a different level.

I see him as the next Bruce Smith. He'll define the DE position for the next 10 years.

"People thinking Barnett isn't athletic enough haven't watched any film since his freshman year"

- scout earlier this year

He's a decent athlete. But nothing special on the NFL stage where freaks like Von Miller and Khalil Mack reside.

Myles Garrett is on that level of athlete. If not higher since he's taller and longer than Mack and Miller.

I think barnett is a jared allen type, initially overshadowed by bigger names with better measurables but works his way into a dang good NFL career and is a borderline HOF'er. His motor is excellent and his getting to the QB ability is amazing.

In the past 5 minutes you've edited a post to go from saying "He's not athletic" to saying "He's a below average athlete" to "He's not a top tier athlete" to finally "He's a decent athlete"

Well that's because he doesn't really know what the hell he's talking about. So, there's that.

I'm not sure he will be overlooked, though. Everything I've seen has him as a top 10 pick.

Seen #7 to Carolina and #6 to Cincinnati just in the last couple days. He's getting attention.
