He's media, he'd be accused of not doing his job if he didn't ask that question. I've heard the same from almost every other talk show host I've ever heard. It's OK not to like CT, but don't act all dramatic like this was some rare breach of talk show etiquette never seen in radio history.

My problem is more with sports media in general not having common respect for others and doing whatever it takes to make themselves standout instead of covering sports.

I don't particularly like Clay Travis. He's essentially made himself a millionaire by trolling rabid fanbases. Doesn't mean I disagree with everything he does. I love some of his takes.

It's such an easy question to sidestep though. The guy shouldn't do interviews if he can't answer the one question everyone knows is coming.

I am irritated that CT made millions from trolling and just encouraged more trolls to do their thing.

He answered the question. Clay is the one out of line by not respecting the answer and moving on. Instead he put words into his mouth.

Sounds to me like he did sidestep it. He said "no comment" but Clay had to follow up with a smart remark to show everyone how smart he is.

I would have hung up too. The guy is a prick.

Oh come on. lol. when someone says no comment, the answer becomes obvious.

he chose to say no comment rather than "my agent informed me a few came in but I'm happy in Boulder so they weren't really entertained" boom done. instead it's the obligatory "no comment".

McIntyre opened that up on himself.

Still doesn't give Clay the right to comment he meant something he did NOT say though.

Did Clay follow up that exchange with a reminder to his audience about how rich and smart he is?

Most insecure guy in sports media by far.

MTSU basketball team now 10-1 on the year with a road win over Belmont just now.

Crazy stat: Kermit Davis went 153-126 during his first 9 seasons at MTSU for a 54% win percentage.

Since 2011-2012, he's 133-49 with a 73% win percentage. Also has 3 regular season conference titles and one conference tournament title in that time, along with two NCAA tournament appearances and an NIT appearance.

Pretty rare to see a coach stick around the same school for that long and then somehow kick his team into a higher gear out of nowhere.

ETSU won at Mississippi State on a last second tip-in also. Steve Forbes is doing great work there.

Edit: I got Rishvol'd.

How about asking him about how the players feel about being bowl eligible for the first time since 2007, a winning season for the first time since 2005, or about getting a double digit wins for the first time since 2001. Anything to give the attention and praise to the players. Don't ask a coach that just did those things for his team where he plans to coach next year. Those players deserve better after the performance they turned in this season. JMO though.

No real chance of a rivalry in football, but it would be cool to see something start between MTSU and ETSU in basketball. Make it an annual game.

Clay said one additional thing. If he did it for 2-3 additional minutes, I'd agree with you.

I've never been a journalist, but I'm pretty sure putting words into the mouth of a subject being interviewed is one of the cardinal sins.

Asking the question repeatedly, fair game. Changing the answer of the subject, no matter how brief, not fair game.

Gotta trust that VIP access.

Just bad form IMO. Let CU celebrate their season without taking a leak all over it.

Why pay for the VIP room if you're not going to make all of your life decisions based on it. At least that's what my grandpappy always said. Of course, come to think of it, he may have been talking about something else.... oh well. The premise is still the same.

national signing day still is seven weeks away, and tennessee still has plenty of work to do before putting the finishing touches on its 2017 recruiting class.

But defensive coordinator bob shoop said wednesday that the vols are “very, very pleased” with where their class currently stands, although they still “have a lot of different needs” on the defensive side of the ball that could give any newcomer “an opportunity to compete” next year.

“it’s still a long way to signing day, and hopefully we’ll have a couple guys coming in soon, and that’s a great advantage for us,” shoop said, referring to the five projected early enrollees who currently are committed to the vols. “we’re very, very pleased with where things are now. But like i said, it’s a long way to signing day, and we do have a lot of different needs at all levels of football — the d-line, linebacker and in the secondary.

“the way we performed this year, we’re not in a position where we can say anybody coming in doesn’t have an opportunity to compete.
