One of the posters stated that the perception of our class would totally change if we landed Akers. You stated meh, not so much. Even if he turned out, to not be the elite runner we think, which I disagree with you on, you would have to say the perception of the class would skyrocket.

Poster was talking about the perception, which is different than reality..

Ignont and Maleik Gray act like they know he's coming to Tennessee. Ignont saying somebody big is committing soon, and Maleik Gray responding to his top 10 list from July with just an orange emoji 🍊. Not a question mark or anything just an orange like he's simply making a statement. I don't know why but I just feel really good about what's going to happen here. I guess I'm just eternally positive.

It would certainly go a long way. We'd still have 18-19 3 star players, but adding him, after Smith and Chandler and Crosby would indeed change the overall perception for sure.

I swear I just get the feeling they know he's coming to Tennessee. They act like he's just waiting and that he should go ahead and commit. I mean you got Ignont, Smith, and Gray getting in on it now!!

Could be the reason why Akers and his family are playing very close to the vest? He doesn't want to give anything away to either team. Probably just enjoying the process like any recruit would but I believe our own commits knows he's coming here.

I mean gosh if our players don't know they've been played big time, which I don't think Cam would do. Smith, Ignont, and Gray all act like they know he's a vol!

I agree BUT I can also see progress as we get more depth and development. The year of no OL from 2012 and having to play freshmen instead of a RS year and being in the weigh room for an entire year has hurt big time. Looks like we are getting there but worried now for DL and not taking any young ones last cycle catching up to us even without injuries. Last year, Bama said it was one of the toughest they had faced. IMO, the biggest problem was the S&C failure and it was a failed decision and they paid a heavy price because of it this year. They get that corrected with the depth we are bringing in with the last class and what looks like will be another good one this year, we will finally be there. Hopefully, I am right. We need me to be right. :hi:
