Fidel Castro Dead at 90

There are poor whites. Actually more poor whites than there are poor blacks

If poverty is directly related to violence, why is there not more whites killed by gun violence than blacks?

Or could it be a result of a breakdown in the family unit within the black community?

Could it be directly related to two generations who have decided that belonging to a gang and protecting drug and gang turf is more important than somebodies life?

Its got more to do with which population is in cramped urban areas than some kind of innate racial culture.

Black on black violence is the result of poverty and inequality in this country.

Police violence on black bodies is state sanctioned violence.

Two completely different things. You can't appeal to poor people in desperate situations to not be poor anymore or be desperate. That is a problem the government must solve by improving the living conditions of black people in this country.

But we can appeal to our government to not kill us anymore. That is why black lives matter exists. To stop the government from killing it's own citizens.

So the promotion of the hood and repping the block while scorning the successful black men as uncle Tom's or coons have nothing to do with it?

There was a great study by a couple of Harvard University researchers that answered this question.

The answer basically comes down to proximity of who you live around. While it is true there are more poor white people than poor black people in America, most poor whites don't live in concentrated communities. They are spread out and in many cases live near more affulent white communities. This leads to a cultural interaction between rich and poor whites thus reducing the chances a poverty induced culture of violence arises. Poor whites by living beside more affulent whites are able to see that it's possible to advance in this society without resorting to violence.

This same is not true for poor blacks. Ulike poor whites that don't live in concentrated communities, poor black people live in concentrated communities called "ghettos". These poor concentrated communities are segregated from more affulent communities. Because these communities see no way out of the poverty they experience, this allows a culture of violence and desperation to develop.

And if you think this stuff is all theory, the same thing happened to whites in the early 1900s. Early white migrants from Europe lived in concentrated ghettos in large American cities like New York and Boston. This led to the development of large American gangs. Remember the movie Gangs of New York starting Leonardo DiCaprio? That basically shows what life was like when poor white people were concentrated into ghettos.

The government responded to the issue of white gang violence from European immigrants by creating the suburbs. This allowed poor whites to leave a cycle of violence in the inner city and move to the middle class.

Kagame and Mugabe are respectable. The other 3 are pure trash.

Now I know you must be trolling. Any person calling Mugabe respectable has a few screws loose. He turned his country from being the breadbasket of Africa to facing crippling inflation.

You just typed multiple paragraphs to say the same thing I said in a sentence.

Exactly.

When ethnic white communities were concentrated into ghettos in the early 1900s we saw the same violence we see today in the inner city black communities.

Where else did the Italian and Irish gangs come from? Where did Al Capone come from? Or the inspiration for The Godfather series?

Before black people in the inner cities became the face of violence, ethnic whites that recently immigrated from Europe were the face of inner city violence.

But then the government employed policies to integrate them into the greater white American society.

Too bad the government hasn't done the same for black people. Instead they have just congregated them into more and more ghettos.

I know. I didn't see your post.

Props for posting it.
I just found it amusing that two people can say the same thing in such a different way. You should learn the art of brevity. You lose some meaning to what you're saying, but most of that is lost when people try to process over 100 characters, anyway.

This doesn't explain nearly every predominately Black Country.

The levels of poverty and violence are so extreme. These are also countries that have been exploited by the developed world for long periods of time as well as their leaders who, for the most part, took control by violent means. I think D4H is a crazy person but the industrialized world has exploited the African and Caribbean countries.

He thinks he's smart by using a whole lot more words.

You're smarter though.

He's younger.

And I've drank my grey matter into submission.

Give me a handful of blue foots and I'll give you 44,000 pages on the difference between 'lonely' and 'lonesome'.

Cool

Well thats a good theory that may be fact in some big inner cities

But I dont work in a big city and we have gang violence all the time

That gang violence is not always in the housing projects. For the most part, we have pushed the gangs out of the projects

A majority of young black males that die in gun violence is directly or indirectly related to gang violence. A majority of those are hits carried out by a dealer that lives in an affluent area of town. Take Greg Petties from Memphis. Dude called in hits while hiding out in Mexico. He was connected to El Chapo and supplied most every dealer in the southeast. He wasnt living in the hood

Being poor doesnt make you a criminal and killer. Neither does the color of your skin. Its your lack of moral character.

Using the excuse of being poor is trying to explain away and deeper issue within those communities

Money didnt change Petties, Fort, Hoover, Frank Lucas, Al Capone, The Gambinos, Whitey Bulger, or the various other gangster that destroyed neighborhoods and murder for a profit

Any person who puts Malcom X and Cassius Clay as their black heros above MLK, shows a major lack of mental capability.

I am disappointed in dfh not including bill Russell though
