Fidel Castro Dead at 90

Nope.

He didn't do anything for black people or Africa.

So let me get this straight, if he helped black people in Africa, we could excuse the 1 million+ innocent Russians that were murdered?

I may not be the smartest guy in the world but that seems awfully selfish.

They didn't leave Cuba under Batista so it couldn't have been that bad.

Maybe that's because America wouldn't accept them since we were supporting Batista.

Cuban refugees have only gotten this preffered status since Castro rose to power.

I wonder why?

And yet outside America he is viewed as a hero. Champion of the poor. And revolutionary force.

The rest of the world, especially Africa, loved Fidel Castro.

that's great, but they should realize he encouraged a thermonuclear war between US and USSR.

Even though he did nothing to help living conditions for them?

Actually he did. South Africans practically credit him with helping them gain their freedom.

For many Africans, Cuban leader Fidel Castro was a hero who battled white supremacy - Firstpost

The ruling African National Congress party was trained and equipped by Cuba in its years of guerilla resistance.

In a world where the USA, the UK and every other so-called leaders of the free world, since rechristened as the "international community", stood behind South Africa's brutal apartheid regime as it oppressed the majority black citizens at home, occupied and propped up another racist regime in what is now free Namibia and militarily supported its own proxies in the scramble for power in new decolonised Angola, Cuba stood like a rock in support of the forces fighting the racist apartheid regime in South Africa.

Cuba, under Castro, poured in help in support of Angola offering military personnel, medical personnel and more.

It is important to mention that the USA and the UK were firmly behind the proxies of South Africa. This defeat of white-racist-supported-forces - the image of battle tanks manned by white racists running away from Angola back to South Africa - showed that whites could be defeated.

The apartheid regime in South Africa never really recovered from this defeat. They were forced to run away from Namibia which won freedom shortly afterwards. In no small way, this also had a direct bearing with the collapse of the apartheid regime in South Africa. Soon thereafter, the ANC took charge in South Africa.

Maybe you don't consider this important. But as black people we deeply appreciate Castro and Cuba being there for our people when no one else was.

"I find capitalism repugnant... It is filthy. It is gross, it is alienating... because it causes war, hypocrisy and competition." - Fidel Castro

One of the biggest idiots in modern human history. Miami should be a happy place today.

You have to give him some credit...Fidel was very well versed in war (especially on his own people), hypocrisy (he and his henchmen lived pretty well while people starved), and competition ( for top dictator in our hemisphere).

Americans and Europeans boycotting SA business ended apartheid, not Castro.

So you want to give credit to those that propped up the racist Apartheid government of South Africa for decades and only turned after public opinion soured on the support of a racist state? Ok.

I'll give credit to the leader and nation that stood up to Apartheid when it wasn't considered popular. Its easy to stand up to tyranny when everyone else is doing so. Its hard to do it when everyone else thinks its okay. Fidel and Cuba stood up to the racist South African regime when the rest of the world particularly Europe and America thought racism was okay.

America and Europe only turned on South Africa when public opinion turned.

That's your problem. Stop assuming.

Cuba under Batista was a racist apartheid jim crow type state.

Castro improved that. Which is why he is loved by MOST black people in Cuba and across the world.

You are flat out stupid. Castro was a racist and used racial terminology to describe Obama after Obama visited Cuba. It's well known that black Cubans are treated worse than non blacks in Cuba. You should try spewing your nonsense in South Florida. You'd get knocked on your butt.

Oh Lord!!!

I have found the holy grail of ignorance.

Now, before you get mad, Im not calling you stupid. Big difference

I just think you are speaking on a matter that you have absolutely no idea about

Are you familiar with Cubans intervention in Angola, which led directly to the Angolan Civil War? This resulted in the deaths of over 500,000 Angolan civilians. All in the name of securing Angola as a communist state

5)Robert Mugabe

Looking back on this wonderful news my only regret was that the bastard didn't face a firing squad made up of veterans of Brigade 2506.
