Fidel Castro Dead at 90

Leftists hold brutal dictators in high esteem. Your comments don't surprise me at all.

He was such a benevolent dictator that he didn't let Cubans leave. It must have been awesome living under the thumb of Castro!!!

Reported for speaking unkindly about the revolutions or its "benevolent" leader? A trip to the firing squad for you sans any due process!

Perhaps one day you'll be forunate enough to live under the rule of just such a benevolent dictator.

The right also love dictators as long as they promote white supremacy.

Did you have a problem with the Batista regime that preceded Castro?

Cause that was another dictator. The difference America liked that dictator cause he didn't oppose the spread of American hegemony in Latin America. And none of the white Cubans in Miami the last 50 years raising hell about Castro had any problem with the dictatorship of Batista. Why? Because they benefitted from it.

So please stop with this BS about freedom. None of care about that. We just care about whether the person agrees with us idelogically. I'm at least being honest in acknowledging that Castro is a dictator. I just agree with his idelogy so I overlook that flaw and instead celebrate the rest of his positive accomplishments.

D4h, I know dozens of black Cubans that were born in Cuba that would smack your ignorance from your small brain. You have zero clue what you're talking about. Per usual.

This x1000, one of my closest friends growing up is a Cuban born American currently serving in the marine core. His father Javier Gonzalez Sr was arrested and killed in a Cuban prison for shoving an officer who was groping his wife. "MA gonzo" as we call her fled Cuba to pompano beach florida where her son ended up becoming a great friend of mine. He never got to know his father because of goons put in charge of that communist regime that suppressed people's lives.. I will repeat as I said before d4h can go kick rocks.

You're a damn idiot. I guess if Hitler supported anti colonialism, you'd support him. This is how twisted your logic has become. A murderer and tyrant and that's not opinion.

No. Because that's an Oxymoron.

What made Hitler....Hitler is his racist ideology. The belief in racial supremacy of the Aryan Race. If he were an anti-colonialist against the oppression of black people in Africa by white Europeans, then by definition he couldn't be a racist. And thus there would be no dilemma in supporting him.

I don't recall "the right" loving any dictators.

well I heard it all, D4H thinks Castro is a hero, lol. What's next, Stalin was a freedom fighter?

hero biography

"Cuba Archive President Maria Werlau says the total number of victims could be higher by a factor of 10. Project Vice President Armando Lago, a Harvard-trained economist, has spent years studying the cost of the revolution and he estimates that almost 78,000 innocents may have died trying to flee the dictatorship. Another 5,300 are known to have lost their lives fighting communism in the Escambray Mountains (mostly peasant farmers and their children) and at the Bay of Pigs. An estimated 14,000 Cubans were killed in Fidel's revolutionary adventures abroad, most notably his dispatch of 50,000 soldiers to Angola in the 1980s to help the Soviet-backed regime fight off the Unita insurgency."

Counting Castro's Victims - WSJ

Yet the Castros, Che Guevara, and that gang quickly turned the island into something all too familiar in the world: a one-party dictatorship with a gulag. People streamed out of the country, if they were able. One of them was Juanita Castro, who had fought alongside her brothers.

Explaining her defection, she said, “I could not remain indifferent to what is happening in my country. My brothers Fidel and Raúl have made it an enormous prison surrounded by water.”

Why black Americans love Fidel Castro — Quartz

See how easy it is for me to post an article that supports my arguments and exudes praise of Fidel?

White people hate Castro. Black people love him.

I don't ignore Fidel's faults. I just place more weight on the good he did for MY PEOPLE across the globe.

If you ain't black you wouldn't understand.
Thank God somebody did something for "YOUR PEOPLE." They need all the help they can get if they are anything like you.

It seems to be less about Castro and more about idolizing a murder.

I love how you generalize entire groups of people and proclaim that you aren't racist. You don't speak for all black people and your understanding of non-bias people is severely misguided. I hope that one day you can come to grips with all the hate that you have in your heart.

I could not care less if he wakes up or not. He lives a heavy life by choice. That's his problem and it might get him killed one day.

And this is the scary world we're living in. He lauds FC because he was radical and violent.
"You wouldn't understand, you're not black" is a typical phrase from groups like BLM. This movement isn't for unity, peace and equality like Dr. king. It is divisive and, I'd say, capable of setting race relations back 100 years.

Its interesting. Statistically, the overwhelming amount of charitable support for blacks in this country and the issues they face come from white, conservative donors. Join the revolution.

So you're calling Nelson Mandela a "brutal dictator"?

Cause that is one of the leaders he supported while our government was supporting the apartheid government of white South Africa.

Cuba was never in that fight, plus Mandela was a communist so of course Castro supported him. Get your facts straight.

Did you ask them which was better...Cuba under Castro vs when Batista ruled?

If you've followed my posts here in the politics forum, you've heard me rail against the state of black people in modern America. Most of the white posters around here think I hate America so much that they keep asking me why I haven't left.

I said all that to say that even though I am critical of 2016 America, it's still alot better than 1960 America. And I'm thankful for people like Dr. Martin Luther King for the sacrifices he made to make life better for us.

The same is true in Cuba. White supremacy is still rampant down there. And life is still unfair for black folks. However, Cuba under Castro is world's better for black people than Cuba under Batista. That is all I'm saying.

No we have never had a conversation as to whether things were better for blacks under Castro than Batista. I just assume that since they risked their lives to leave Cuba because of Castro it was better for them under Batista.

That's your problem. Stop assuming.

Cuba under Batista was a racist apartheid jim crow type state.

Castro improved that. Which is why he is loved by MOST black people in Cuba and across the world.

They didn't leave Cuba under Batista so it couldn't have been that bad.
