Dobbs has honestly had a great year as well.

If somebody told me pre-season that he would post stats of:

2,655 yards passing, 26 TDs, 12 INTs, 63.3% completion

and

713 yards rushing, 9 TDs

through 12 games, I would definitely think we were going 10-2 or 11-1.

He has been wonderful with the exception of one thing. Ball security. It has really hurt us.

Assuming butch is back next year what do y'all think a realistic record is?

Georgia Tech in ATL W
Indiana Stata W
@Florida L
UMass W
Georgia L
USCe W
@ Alabama L
@ Kentucky W
Southern Miss W
@ Missouri W
LSU L
Vanderbilt W

EDIT: GT is a toss up though. Obviously can't count Vandy or USCe as a sure win either.

Generally what I see, although I'm not chalking up GT as a win at this point. Maybe switch them with UGA.

Either way, yet another unfulfilling year.

Houston an upgrade over MSU?

No way. Especially since Mullen has probably been courted by Penn State and Miami in the past.

I think Mullen is kind of a hero at MSU and as long as he is competitive, he will be there as long as he wants. He will leave on his terms. The Dak development in the NFL has even built up some equity with MSU fans.

Mullen and PJ Fleck on Houston's short list. Mullen also on Oregon's short list, if/when Helfrich is fired. Brian Kelly's agent is putting feelers out to the NFL.

For a HC position? Why would an NFL team want a college coach coming off a 4-8 season?

Yes, RBs too. It's bizarre. Every time our guys get swarmed and fight for extra yards, I start yelling for them to just go down. Seems like it's a 50/50 thing whether they'll cough up the ball as they get gang tackled.

He had a handful of fumbles to go with it. So over 1 TO per game approximately hurts. But overall it is a really good season. The combination of the team TO's being more than opponents, the penalties being more than opponents, the injuries being more than opponents, and the coaching miscues being as many or more doomed this team's chances for an east title. The first three are really surprising - not based on their history in the previous three years. The coaching miscues have been. So 8-4 with all of that makes a great deal of sense. As things stand it appears 9-3 is Butch's ceiling.

Way too early to predict next season's results. We have no idea what kind of coaching turnover we are looking at, or what players step up in spring and fall ball.

Easier schedule and a nicer place to live. Worth serious consideration, for sure. Oregon's definitely an upgrade.

Mullen's wife convinced him to take the MSU job because she enjoyed the area while working for the Golf Channel at a tournament at Old Waverly sometime beforehand. I believe they like it in Starkville. He also makes close to $5 million. There aren't many schools that are going to severely increase his pay.

For real.

Muschamp has our number and their QB will be a year wiser.

And vandy is only getting better.

Could easily see 6-6 with that schedule and a new QB.

Subject to coaching changes I'm thinking 7-5 and being positive. That's why it will be better to get his done this year instead of next, but they won't.

Can't believe he fumbled it 10 times. Only 4 of those were lost, but they were lost at some pretty inopportune times.

His mistakes anger me just like they do everyone else, but I'll miss him. His mistakes on the field are the only negatives we have to say about the guy. He's been 100% pure class on and off the field. He's been here for 4 years and has set the standard for what it is to be a student-athlete.
