It's really sad you post here so much acting like you know football. The jokes on you here.

Clearly Vandy played a soft bend but don't break defense in the second half and we weren't able to finish drives. They kept the ball in front of them giving us short plays and we made mistakes that killed drives. Somehow you saw a different game if you think differently or are just plain football ignorant.

Yeah, we won't be dominant on the DL or anything next year. But guys like Johnson, Mosley, and Butcher going through a full spring and fall at DT should get them up to speed.

At least we will have bodies for if/when we lose 5 or 6 to injury lol

Mosley nor butcher will ever contribute here. If they could they already would have. I would be shocked if either are back next year.

Butcher has been hurt since he stepped on campus and Mosley was a backup OL until about two weeks ago. We'll see

Butcher has been healthy all year and still not playing with the DT in shambles. Writing is on the wall with him.

Mosley maybe but he has been buried on the OL depth chart for a reason.

Chris Fowler talking smack about how Colorado is better off with Mike Macintyre after Jones left them at the altar.

Of course, Tennessee is also technically better off with Jones after Strong left us at the altar in 2012. No mention of that, however.

MM would be major candidate for our job should it come open soon.

It's frustrating. We have the resources and facilities to be top 10 every year but we refuse to pay for real elite coaches. Makes no sense.

Who makes the decision on who plays in each game? Insert two competent players for #13 and #53 on D, which has been the case game after game despite the fanboys assertions on here, and the D would be strong enough to defeat both Vandy and USCe even with all the injuries. #13 nearly lost the UGA game as well. Yet, there both of them are game after game taking snaps that could be given to more talented players to gain experience. The results of the games would not be worse, only potentially better. Nearly every competent OC knew to isolate on those two. Those coaches know to look for winning match-ups.

I find the Debo question of competency fascinating as well. One should not use cumulative season stats to make the point. TN Tech goes in there. The basketball game against a bad Mizzou D is in there. The UK shootout is in there. All are bad D's. Each game has to be situationally analyzed. Debo presided over an O that was totally incompetent in 11 out of 24 halves of football. Not just underperforming - horrible. With one or more NFL RB's, 2 NFL WR's, 1 NFL TE, and a productive Sr. QB with 4 seasons of starting experience, and a couple of potential NFL O-linemen. If the bench guys cannot step up when injuries hit, especially the O-line, who else is to blame? Mahoney is a weak link, yet, Debo was touted as a strong O-line coach. I guess we know differently now. We know he's not a QB coach. We know he has been maddeningly inconsistent as a play caller. We know virtually no modifications were made in the O to accommodate player skill sets. We know he never fully took advantage of match-ups or Kamara, Malone, JJ and Wolf would have been used like crazy in every game in every half that was not already a blow out.

Maybe your definition of not being a problem is different than mine. Maybe 8-4 is your thing.

Just watch. We will have a new chancellor and AD and nothing will change. I'm about to the point where I want Fulmer as AD. Hiring "suits" who have experience in the role doesn't seem to help us. We still cheap out every time. Fulmer is at least invested in the program and would explore every possible avenue to get a winner in place.

I think DeBord and Shoop are back next year.

Thig and Martinez need to be fired. Almost anyone would be an upgrade over those two.

Gillespie likely leaves on his own. Ball security has been terrible with RBs this year. He's touted on here, but is he really that great?

Scott will 100% leave. Z will probably leave.

Doubt Strip goes anywhere. Who knows on Mahoney. OL seems decent this year.

Gillespie, Z, Shoop and Scott leave, IMO, and Mahoney's contract is not renewed. Strip and DeBord stay with CBJ and the rest are toss-ups. The lack of top-down leadership, the hot seat talk, rampant negativity and CBJ's reputation as a micromanager could impact our ability to make quality hires.

From a business point of view it doesn't make sense to me.

We have the stadium, resources, and tradition to hire the best coaches in the country. Volunteer football is number 1 in the state of Tennessee....Why we keep continuing to cheap out amazes me.

I don't think CJ will leave. I bet he fires several puts a pretty much a new staff together and gives it another shot trying for his redemption. I just don't see him just quitting. The other thing I am concerned with is that there aren't really good coaches out there at the lv we need. Please don't say Petrino or Kelley, they are sucking just about as bad as CJ.

UT is slow to react and cheap when it matters because the fans, donors and boosters allow it. The administration takes advantage of the unwavering loyalty and largesse of UT alums and supporters. Let season ticket sales slide, attendance dip and annual giving plunge-- and see what happens. Not selling out bowl game tickets would send a message.

I suspect it's more ingrained than just the "salaried administration." There is likely some reluctance to spend money among the real PTB whether it be Haslams, Anderson, Thornton or whoever.

I think this one is going to take longer than the normal 2-3 days for the sunshine to return.

I say Ron shows up later today and says he is done with cbj.

Then by Monday of next week this board starts to use the injury narrative again as reason to really the troops.

By the following Monday, Ron will be telling us how Tenn fans are going get exactly what the deserve with butch leaving and we just don't know how lucky we are to have had him.

2 weeks tops and all order will be restored with those few still living in reality will be trolls again.

You're an insufferable a**hat, Bruin.

That's why people (accurately) pen you as a troll.
