The thing is Jones should have been fired last night. Won't happen now though. This AD won't make a change. All of us talking about it ain't gonna change a thing

I think most all are in agreement that a change needs to be made sooner rather than later...who is the consensus though? The most worrying thing about it is that there is no obvious candidate to throw too much money at and make them say no.

Better act quick with Oregon, ND, Arizona, and probably others I'm forgetting joining the fray.

I'm livin and dying with Chip Kelly. He's done in the NFL. He is a proven winner in college. Great coach. Make him say no

I don't think he's a good fit personality wise but EVERYTHING is second to winning football games here at this point so yea you absolutely make that call.

Would be a great hire. Problem here is we have to wait until the end of the NFL season. And most likely pay his buyout or wait until he is fired. Dunno when that will be.

I don't care if he's a freaking robot. If he can win, hire him! I'm sick of being the national joke of college football. I just want to win

I expect a coaching exodus similar to post season 2011. and no, Butch Jones will not be fired.

Traveling this morning.

We really need to hope that for some reason Butch decides to walk on his own, or already has a job waiting on him (probably not the case, although his coaching last night seemed like he had already checked out). If he is here next year, expect 2012 all over again. Terrible finish to this signing class, loss of many coaches, and can't replace them with quality assistants. Program takes a step back for at least a couple of years.

Let him ride in 2017 then go get Willie Taggart. Recruiting would soar.

ALSO our program isn't in shambles but we are at a very big crossroad.

I'm not really mad anymore. Just bummed that we wasted so many opportunities. Also bummed because recruiting is going to nose dive and we're just going to have to rebuild all over again while having a lame duck coach.

I really am grateful that Butch took a job no one wanted and I'm grateful that he ended the streak. But I've seen enough, as I know pretty much all of us have.

IMO CBJ has reached his ceiling of 8-4 at Tennessee, not including a potential win in another mediocre bowl game.

The man is obviously way in over his head. Hopefully he'll realize that and go back to a mid-major school where he belongs.

Will UT make a home run hire then? I doubt it.

Possible departures: Debored, Mahoney, Z, Shoop and Martinez? Maybe coach G if he is offered an OC role?

The only way to salvage the solid foundation Butch has built is to can him right now. If this drags out another season we are doomed.

We all know that won't happen, but realistically Swiss cheese Shoop has to go. Butch swung and missed greatly on the DC hire.

I'm sad for us, but also those players who gave their all-- Dobbs, Barnett, etc. etc.

I'm over being mad just sad.

I think that's the real story here -- those amazing young men who did everything they could, who worked their butts off, only to see their efforts wasted. It makes me sad.
