I can't believe what I just watched. Now we get to be the laughingstock of football for another year. "Championship of Life" already reared its ugly head. Now I am seriously worried about recruiting

Butch has to go... Stuck with him ... No athletic director to fire him ... And the one everyone wants loves butch ( blackburn) .. TYPICAL TENNESSEE... 4th and four .. Two yard screen pass WTF ?

The thing is, if we're going to have to hire a new coach, the best prospects are going to get snapped up quickly. CBJ can't handle the negativity, so he'll probably try and make a lateral move. If we wait and he Kiffins us, we'll have an issue.

OTOH, who would hire him and pay a $4M buyout?

I'm officially all for ditching Butch, but who do we realistically hire? I mean LSU had to stick with O.

Remember that moment when you knew Dooley was never gonna succeed? I call it the Dooley moment. I just had my Dooley moment with Butch. Question is, how low must it go before something changes?

I'm tired of being the laughingstock of the SEC and college football. We haven't won anything worth a damn in almost 20 years. I want to know what it feels like to be a champion again. Why can't this University find us a winner? Apathy is setting in again.

I do find it interesting that you have now mentioned twice that Butch can't handle the negativity, tho. Are you talking about just from losing to Vandy or from he thinks he really did a good job this season and is mad the fanbase is not supporting him 100%?

That's the issue. I could see some school in a lesser conference working out a backloaded deal, but who would pay the $4M buyout ($3M after mid Feb)? Still, if he was unhappy before, he's going to be beyond miserable now. The media and fan backlash is going to be brutal.

This is someone inside the program

can't offer any hope. No matter what changes he says he's willing to make, his actions speak much louder. Worst end of game management I've seen in 20 years and then won't even face the media. Even if he's here next year, he's done. He's being ridiculed by every media outlet in a very overt way. Tennessee football is in a bad way in national perception and in reality. Just a really bad deal for us right now.

Any type of lateral move is off the table for him I think. No school (not even Houston) in their right mind would look at how this season for Butch and UT has gone and would say he is worth a buyout of 4M and start paying him a nice salary. IMO it will be a lesser school. That's if he goes. Highly doubt he does. And if he does I highly doubt we find someone great. We need great to get back to greatness.

Sad thing is we've seen the Dooley loss to Ky moment but our admin won't do anything about it because of an absurd buyout. Meanwhile LSU and Texas pay that buyout to make a change. Some schools care about winning. Ours doesn't. Florida fired Muschamp after he had an 11 win season already. It's a depressing knowing a coach will never do anything here and yet with a lame duck AD we're stuck.

The latter. He lashed out at the fans for booing him and has been very defensive about his performance in pressers. LWS, Callahan, Brice and others have said that CBJ is unhappy with the criticism-- a lot of which has been media-fueled. He's going to get much, much more of it now.

No place for that kind of talk. LSU didn't have to fire O, Alleva got into a staring contest with Herman and took his ball and went home.

Everyone was so scared of the other schools that have openings. Well, LSU and Texas filled theirs, so they are out of the way. Notee Dame will have a bigger turd hanging over it than UT, and Oregon, if they even make a change...come on.
