Not saying Herman is some kind of colossal dud (although I almost always think I'd like to see guys like him sustain something longer than just a couple seasons).

I just meant that I don't think Houston dropped the game today because Herman rumors. They simply aren't the fringe playoff team people pushed them as all summer...they're "just" a good G5 team. (I don't mean that as a slight at all, either)

Did anyone talk about Butch after his 2009 season at CMU when he won 12 games? Seems like G5 coaches who crack the 11-12 win mark usually get huge interest from programs. I don't remember his name coming up at all and had never even heard of him until we play Cincy in 2011. Maybe coaching searches just weren't as big back then.

None of the 3 dominated statistically in college.

The sheer overwhelming mediocrity of SEC coaching recently is going to be Butch's best asset moving forward. No one stands out other than Saban right now. Coaching is abysmal in the East and not that much better in the West.

Brady won the orange and citrus bowl and had good years in the time of run dominated offenses in the big ten. Favre is in the top 3 in passing all time at southern miss in a time when running the football was the way to go. Favre is still there most recognized alum with Jimmy buffet and ray guy. Curtis Martin was hurt most his college career but when he played he was damn good.

Your argument is two QBs in a run dominated time in college football and an injury plagued rb during his college years. Try harder next time....

So if they are "coached up" when they win, are they not "coached down" when they lose to craptastic teams?

I know..I'm just yankin Butchies chain. He is such a huge Herman slurper, it makes it fun to mess with him. For the record I think German is a good coaching prospect, but come on...
