I generally agree with this. But at the same time... there was a drive against Kentucky where Croom took over the game as a blocker. He made multiple blocks on a play that went to the right for a big gain. Then a moment later, he did the same thing - multiple blocks on a TD run. I haven't seen Croom do that before.

I absolutely think Kelly and Kamara are better backs, especially in this system. But at the same time, I didn't see blockers dominating for Hurd like the above example. It's probably just because Hurd would miss the hole or get tackled before the blockers could set up, but I thought it was at least worth asking the question.

you think someone (even multiple someone's) would sabotage the entire team and their own career prospects to make another person they don't like...look bad?

I think it's utterly ridiculous and even if it were true, those players should also be kicked off the team

This place is insufferable

Ha. It is! I remember in the Dooley years thinking man, I'd given anything to even get back to the early and mid 2000s when we were winning ~10 games, were always in the top 25 and part of the national conversation, were producing first round talent, were beating our rivals.

Well, we are there now and it is just as miserable as the Dooley years.

Actually it's not even close. You'd have a better argument if you said this is one of the most poisonous CFB forums. Probably because of the Like button- it encourages strong responses in either direction in an attempt to fish for likes.

But there's also a ton of well thought out opinions here, even if I don't agree with all of them.

Wanted to get everyone's opinion on Urban Meyer. Having followed his career this is what I think of him.

He's a top 3 coach in college football for several reasons and "in-game" management isn't one of them. I believe Urban is the best recruiter in the game. I believe urban is top 5 when it comes to game planning. I believe Urban is top 2 when it comes to hiring very talented assistants and letting them work. Those three areas are why he is among the best at his profession. His weakness however becomes exposed when he loses his Dan Mullen or Tom Herman. Urban needs a top tier OC to win consistently. He doesn't have that now. When he lacks the top end OC he tends to lose games that he shouldn't and his teams perform poorly when the other team responds to their quick starts. Penn State hung around and won. His team struggled against 3 other opponents this year that made adjustments in game and Urban couldn't. This also happened to him at Florida when Mullen left.

Ohio State is winning this year on their superior talent and Urbans ability to game plan prior to kick off. If a lack of execution happens early in the game with Ohio State they are extremely beatable. Better get them now before he finds his next Herman.

Link? Sources? "IMO" fyp.

Not buying it since I visit numerous sites. I don't disagree that it can get ugly in here at times. However, it is pretty much the same with most of them that have 'fanatical' fans.

Thanks man. You just ruined it for me.

My thoughts on the rumors and all this negativity. I unlike some here never forgot sitting in Neyland during the Florida game in 2012 and watching us piss it away. I never forgot what 2008 felt like when we knew it was time for Fulmer to go and in 2009 when Kiffin bolted following a 7 win season where we were excited to go to a bowl game. I never forgot wondering every year during Dooley if we'd even make a bowl game and hoping we would to get extra practices in for early enrollees. I also don't forget the excitement of the turnaround Butch made with recruiting, culture and on the field success measured by increasing wins.

I don't know how the remainder of this season will play out but here are my wants for head coaches next year.

1. Butch Jones = Thanks coach and keep building this thing. If you reach your apex, I appreciate the rebuild and thank you for it.

2. David Cutcliffe = If Butch doesn't stay, I'm ready for a tactician that has roots to our great school to come home. Hell, bring Chavis with ya!

3. Dan Mullen = Similar reasons as Coach C and a QB whisperer. I would love to see what he could do at a better program.

4. Charlie Strong = If all others weren't available, I would like to see what he could do back in the south.

No thanks to bringing Chavis back in all honesty. He seems to have a hard time defending these spread systems with dual threat QBs.

Also, you forgot Gruden on that list. :)

This thread was always a refuge from the FF. It doesn't seem that the LOM from the FF have squatted over here. Really, seems like many of our own have joined the LOM.

I have no inside info and am not qualified to make technical football points, for the most part. I do think the team's woes are due mostly to injuries and some "play not to lose" play calling earlier in the season.

The SC game loss seems to be the flashpoint for much of this dissatisfaction. I believe the A&M game should've been a W, I was there, and our turnovers (not coaching) were the root cause. To put the A&M/Bama losses on coaching is incorrect.

Defensively, we have backup DE's playing starter minutes at DT. We have backup LB's logging significant minutes. We have injured starters on defense playing more than they should. 110 plays in the Missouri win. That seems to be lost in the debate.

I've got so many users on ignore right now, ones who have had good insights in the past. No one should care who I've got on ignore. But at the risk of inhibiting free speech, Freak/Mods should be more active in steering this thread toward decent football talk, not whom should be fired and replaced with xxx.
